Coral Strand Smart Choice  

Superb beachfront location. Loved falling asleep to the sound of waves on the shore. Balcony window / doors fully open. Breakfast buffet quality and choice was good.

Pool not very big. Expensive drinks at the beach bar. Bit of a damp smell in the room although seemed recently renovated.

Rooms are very modern and comfortable. Location is great, right on a nice sandy beach but with many restaurants in the surroundings.

Selection for breakfast was large but of relatively low quality.

The location was beautiful, right on the beach. There were a couple of guy's who worked there who were super friendly and helpful, especially Yannik. Overall the stay was pleasant and we would definitely go back again.

The pool was dirty and on a number of occasions I saw dead gekko's and ants floating around. Overall hygiene just wasn't very nice. The rooms itself had to be requested to be thoroughly cleaned. Would have been nice if we could have swapped the included buffet breakfast for lunch or dinner instead as breakfast was usually over by 9.40am. Also unless you buy food and keep it in your room after 11pm there will be nothing in the whole town it seems in regards to getting food!

The Coral Strand is located on a beautiful stretch of clean beach with clean and clear ocean nearby. Our room overlooked the beach so we were able to listen to the sounds of the waves in the evening. The room itself was fine (to our expectations) and everything was in order and worked properly The breakfast offered a good range of choices, the food was fresh and well prepared and presented.

Some of the staff seemed a little unresponsive (slow) others however were most helpful. I don't really think there was too much that we would complain about.

It definitely does not qualify as a 4 star hotel.

Outstanding location, only few steps to access to the beach. Sunbeds and towels are good quality. Ocean view from my room was definitely breathtaking! I had small balcony, there I spent nice evening watching sunset. Breakfast is ok: different kind of baking, fruits, eggs, etc. A la carte menu in the restaurant is delicious. Free secure parking is a big plus. Further recommend this hotel to everybody.

Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was not very nice / over-cooked and tasteless. Some of the staff had attitude (please eat at La Perle Noire for dinner was really nice and just next door)

The hotel is poor equiped; no business / internet room, no flight check in service etc. noizy in the evenings. My terras door was broken. It lasted 1,5 day to fix, so I could not lock my room! No compensation for this, not even a discount or free lunch or watso ever. Wifi separately charged,....come on.... It is 2013.

Great location, wonderful beach, clear waters, enticing panorama, secure and good for family holidays with kids, cleanliness acceptable, people speak English and French.

Expensive destination. Water activities very expensive too.Hotel reception staff had a shockingly unwelcoming attitude; service is extremely slow everywhere (45 minutes for an iced coffee and another 40 minutes for the bill); although lately refurbished soap and shampoo dispensers not working; no waste bins in the room and bathroom; room furniture not comfortable; breakfast very elementary and boring; food price quite expensive. We paid for a ocean view room but got a pool- garden view room.

This hotel is in a lovely location on Beau Vallon beach, and has an agreeable air to it. The staff were friendly and the price was pretty fair. The rooms had been recently refurbished and were well equipped. They lend out beach towels for use on the beach. Breakfast is served from 5am, which is helpful if you have an early flight. I arrived well before checkin and was able to have a shower and change while waiting for my room to be made up.

The main dining room is rather soulless. Drinks at the bar are quite expensive (even by Seychelles standards). The wifi charges 50 rupees/hr (or 250 for 24 hours, pausable) but the connection is very poor as they have all their access points configured on the same channel. The service can be a bit vague sometimes, though the staff were helpful.

The hotel should really buy decent shoes for the waiters. It hurts even eyes to see them dragging their feet with their selection of cheap sandals.

You can't complain about the service at the pool bar because there isn't any. Serious lack of service.

The hotel has good location, the rooms are suited, beach is clean, the food was quite fine, prices are avarage, the crew is freindly, the beach veiw was awsome, overall the hotel is avarage comparing to the price

Noisy, the internet wasn't free only the first 1/2 hour, the room service are coming and open the door anytime, the cleaning of the room was poor, two small bottles of water prvided only upon arraival, after midnight nothing is open even if water needed, no dine in the rooms, no taxi provided by hotel, hotel has no activities like tours, water sports, entertaining, i've informed the hotel i'm in honeymoon and I received the gift in the last day,

I visited Coral Strand while my trip back home after visiting Praline Island to the airport. I had only one day to rest as well. This hotel was able to reach all my wishes. Fast check-in, nice room with an ocean view. Standard room isn’t large, but light and clean. Room amentias: safe box, refrigerator, king size bed, flat tv, air conditioner, table, chair, flashlight. I was surprised to see tea and coffee facilities. Swimming- pool is compact, with deep side for those who can swim, and small separated part for children. On this site there are 2 showers. Beach begins straight after pool area. On the left side there are banana, jet- ski, parasailing and other water entertainment things. Food is great. During the day there was barbeque in the pool restaurant. Very tasty! For the dinner I went to try a-la carte. Carpaccio is fantastic! Seriously, delicious. In the evening there was live music at the Ocean Deck Pub – nice covers on the classic rock hits. I’d like to recommend this hotel for everybody: it’s good enough as for single travelers like me, as for honeymooners.

Excellent location, great water sports

Service was not good. Staff at reception did not have adequate knowledge of seychelles and the hotel needs a proper concierge.

View was good.

The reception staff including guest relation manger were not helpful.

The hotel is right on the beach and is well positioned for the sun through- out the day. There are various dive shops in the area and a coral area suitable for diving at the far end of the beach.

The restraurant staff could have been a little more attentive and the bar did not open to late in the morning, around 11 A.M. It was mentioned that the hotel was in a 'warm-up' period ready for the busy season and that some facilities may not be up-to-speed.

The rooms where very nice and the pool area

Staff not very friendly and for that very poor service. Food was the same everyday but ok.

Deputy manager was very proactive when we had some issues with our room which seemed to be disregarded by general staff we approached. Just a few steps from hotel and you are on beach. Victoria the Capitol is just a 10 minute taxi away which is where most excursions go from (collected from hotel first). I would recommend this place but would advise on exploring island on first day as there are some lovely places close by which was not discovered until thee d by us (hotel can organize driver / taxi for you for around 2000 Rp).

It took a complaint to manager to get action done on some minor problems with room as some staff ignored. A little on the boring side in the evenings as not much atmosphere by pool bar.

Clean room

Rooms are small. Staff not really welcoming We booked after visiting other islands and to be near the airport after new year eve , we were so disappointed and dishonored when they obliged us to pay 110/ pax for the NYE gala which was mandatory even if we didnt want to hVe dinner in the hotel restaurant which looks like a cafeteria more than a restaurant. After 40 mn discussion with their manager we got made to even stay there they were stuborn and arrogant with us. We decided to have our dinner in victoria town so we went there and go to club for the countdown in between we had to go to our room and when we requested a taxi at reception they delayed us almost till 11:45pm ! Just to not go out so we had to call one taxi who gave us his number and here again when he came they didnt allow us to go in the taxi!!!!!!! Inacceptable !!!! I will never recommend such insulting place. We stayed without AC in the room from first night didnt work we kept calling for maintenance whole night and nobody gave us consideration. Day after broken at morning we went and asked directly to the reception they said they will send someone , and guess ! Here again from8 am we kept waiting till 1 pm nobody showed to check the AC. Terrible stay althoigh the island has many places fo discover we couldnt withstand more than 2 days there. I do not advice at all to try or even pass by this hotel. No sens of respect of customers No skills for customer service at all levels starting by there manager G.W !!!

The hotel is at an excellent location, right by the magnificent beach. The facilities such as wifi, hospitality were also good and the staff very helpful and friendly. The price was fair.

The waiters at the Ocean Deck Restaurant were very slow, especially on Christmas Day and even getting a menu was a problem. We had to call the Manager and it was only at this point that we got served. That was rather disappointing.
