Excellent Hosts, great cuisine (in-house)
Only minus: no wi-fi in the room
We stayed for a couple of nights in the beautiful furnished and located appartments. If you are looking for a hide-away and very quiet place in the beautiful nature, this is the place to be! There's one beach really close-by and not crowded at all. The south of Mahé is definitely worth to be visited! We'd totally enjoyed it and would have loved to stay longer. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The view during the breakfast is stunning! We did not have a car and to us it wasn't a problem at all. It was actually quite fun to take the bus from Victoria. There are busses every 30mins and the stop is very close to the appartments. One ride is only SR 5 (0,28€). We also took the bus to the lovely other beaches in the south. However, it is really dark after the sunset, so don't forget a torch! We ate out for dinner and didn't use the kitchen facilities but they seemed to be in a very good condition!
Regarding the higher price, we'd love to have a small buffet for breakfast and we did miss some things like proper bread (rolls) (instead of toast), crepes and cheese. The fruits and the omelettes however were super delicious!!
Road to the hotel is difficult. Difficulty in reaching the food hall for breakfast. Owener's Dogs are going all around the hotel. Difficulty in accessing internet.
The beach was beautiful and peaceful. The dinner was a great experience!
We staid in Demeure de Cap Macon for 3 days in November 2013 and had a great time. It is a really nice place, very clean and very tastefully decorated. There is a great atmosphere and the owners, Jean-Louis and Anna are very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is at a really nice part of the island and there are stunning beaches just a short drive away. Also, after Jean-Louis recommendation, we visited some amazing restaurants. Car is essential (to my mind it is essential when you visit Mahe anyway). After reading some reviews online, I was concerned about accessing the hotel (it is on a hill and was warned about a steep path from the main road to the vill); please do not worry at all. I had a really basic automatic car and access was perfectly OK.
All great. As with anything in life (and Mahe) I would like it to be a bit cheaper :)
