Score from 111 reviews Very good
Very friendly welcome, even at a busy time of day, and great service thorughout the stay. Beautifult views, especially from the sunset lounge outside the seaside restaurant. Small but well equipped gym.
The rooms are a bit run down - due for a renovation.
The unconventional heritage appeal of the property. It is one of the oldest properties and the best maintained.
There is no local shop nearby, so be prepared for a quick walk for anything you need.
staff is nice, service is nice, good view, good location, free wifi in holtel.
The situation, view, spacious room, hospitality personnel, breakfast, cleanliness and weather were perfect. The management arranged a lovely surprise for us (10 wedding anniversary): Room upgrading, romantic decorating, cold wine and exotic fruits... We felt all the time safe and taking care of. Important for a lady: Both a hand and ceiling shower. Even a bide! A bath tub and personal wash bowls for both of us. Free Wi-Fi in a room and hotel area. Renting a car was really an experience: A steering wheel is on the right and traffic is on the left side! But it was worth it. A bus ride to the Capital Viktoria felt like Kimi Raikkonen was driving ;-) Bus stops are very near and a ticket is cheap comparing a taxi. In general almost all the island people were very friendly and English was spoken widely. Big plus for Etihad Airways: Only 1 hour time changing a plane in Abu Dhabi and we got our luggage! Highly recommended to visit and enjoy.
We had a big new flat wall TV screen but it was impossible to turn in order to watch it also in bed. That mistake should be repaired. There were 5 times fire/tsunami siren alarms. Nothing luckily happened but we got no information about what was going on. We would have expected to get some advance information how to behave and where to assemble if something happened. The services of Seychelles are concentrated in hotel areas, not many restaurants/shops outside. In Victoria we found only 2 restaurants and almost nothing to buy. No shopping malls, only small shops and they close at 4 p.m. Local people say that it is the smallest capital in the world. Seychelles is quite an expensive place but it is also a group of peaceful and beautiful paradise islands in the middle of nowhere...
The courteous & helpful staff- made a fine effort to be welcoming & hospitable. The winning views of the Indian Ocean. The authentic open air lobby & restaurant building design. Being only a peaceful stroll to some local shops. Being able to spot varied birdlife, & offshore tropical fish. Having full wifi/ internet connectivity. Kind assistance for necessary treks to Victoria.
The initial room placement, while closer to the waves, was also a bit too close to the neighbors. IMO, neighboring room occupants should be seen & not heard.
Food is great. Nice location and staff attention very good.
No facilities for children.
Staff was exellant
the light spicaly when we walk in the eveniing
Kind staff, location, Bus station, Food (Breakfast Buffet)
Loved the location of the hotel, right on the beach and a short walk down the beach to other restaurants and bars. Loved the room, what amazing views. Loved the staff, so very very friendly, I have never seen so many what seemed to me was genuine smiles. Great breakfast, lovely drinks (bar prices are expensive everywhere, and this one was no exception). We were treated like royalty.
Bit too quiet in the evenings. It would of been nice to have more lively entertainment.
The attention of some of the staff especially Mr. Nigel at the front office desk and the location and scenes from the hotel. Good breakfast.
The a/c in the room did not work properly, which woke me up a couple of times.
Fine dining. Helpful staff.
Poor choice of music at breakfast. More information about the area would have been useful.
Staff, location, quietness
Breakfast (always the same with zero variation) Internet (one has to buy an upgrade to get any form of bandwidth We had some issues with cleanliness but all was solved
everything..very nice & very cooperative staff, big & clean rooms..excellent access to the beach..nice food..nice restaurents ..
had a problem with the Ac one night but got it fixed very fast. one of the staff in one of the restaurents was very rude.

Glorious beachfront property Landscaped gardens Spacious rooms Plenty of free water activities Views
Below average customer service in the restaurants Food is very expensive and not up to expected standards In need of updating
Overall, it was a very good experience, location was great, clean beach, quit place, nice garden, staff are very nice and polite, and food was good. I'd choose it again and i'd recommend it for friends and family.
Wifi was poor.. Toilet was open in the room so water would leak into the room.
Staff,Food, view, rooms, pool all in there. I would like to thank Mrs.Beranda for making our stay Unforgettable.

compared to other places where I stayed in Mahé, this hotel is very overpriced ! (by at least 100 euros per day) : I have been also in Sunset Beach Hotel in Beauvallon (smaller but better in terms of quality / price), and in Lemuria and Coco de Mer in Praslin and Chateau St Cloud in La Digue which are normally priced compared to the Meridien. Everywhere I was welcomed with a cocktail : I was not offered any at the Meridien. The room was not ready ; it was early, but in all the hotels I stayed (where I checked in early also), I got my room immediately ! (it is a bad management : lot of flights leave very early ....) Access to my room was from near the parking lot, which is not the most pleasant ! The hot water was not hot anymore whenever the bathtub was full at 2/3! The tea bags and the soap were not replaced for my 2nd night. The hotel is a bit run down and needs refurbishment especially for the prices they ask !!!
I liked the location and views. The staff were very friendly and relaxed. I was really impressed with our room - it was spacious, clean, modern and i liked that it was a semi detached villa rather than a typical hotel room.
The buffet was very average and not really up to par for this hotel. There wasn't a great selection and quality again was only average. It would have been more acceptable if it was better value but it was expensive for what it was. In hindsight I would have preferred to eat more at the other restaurants in the area.
Towel rail kept falling off and making very loud noise on stone floor.
Staff was great. Location was good. Ten minutes walk on the beach to some of the restaurants.
A bit slower service than what we are used to.
