Sunset Beach Hotel  

The setting was stunning, even if it rained most of the time. The a/c in the room we booked wasn't working very well but the receptionists who were mostly helpful upgraded us to one of the rooms right on the beach. The sound of the waves was incredibly soothing and made our stay so much more enjoyable.

To begin with the price of the room did not match with the comfort whatsoever. The mattress was old and springy - not even a duvet - just a sheet as if we were in a motel. The food was terrible and double the price of what you would expect to pay in any other resort. We ordered a club sandwich with a side of fries which I honestly thought was sitting out for a week. Absolutely the worst food I have ever been served!!! And this is no exaggeration. For dinner, the only option at the hotel was a 40 euro per person buffet and mind you, there was nothing available between 6 and 8pm. After lunch, there was no way we were going to fork out that kind of money only to be disappointed. In saying that, the receptionist was kind enough to book us a taxi and table at a local restaurant down the road. One thing for sure, this island is not that tourist friendly. Service is not generally done with a smile. If you keep this in mind, i'm sure you can enjoy your holiday! Oh one other thing, check out at this hotel is at 10am!!! Unless you kindly request a later check-out depending on other bookings...

I found the Sunset beach resort to be a fantastic designed Resort and havinf the limited room was a really good feature and there were not people everywhere and having the no children under 10 allowed was amazing as you did not have to worrie about the at the bar or in the pool I had a great time the staff were top quality particulary elvis one of the bar staff anything we needed was taken care of.

The service provided was awesome, the staff were very helpful. The rooms were of a high standard for the whole stay

Stunning natural surroundings! The best hotel of Seychelles!!! (Watched a lot, including on Beau-Vallon): the best location, own great beach, good sunbeds, tide hardly felt, a private snorkeling, swimming pool clean, maid service excellent, room furniture and bathroom new, friendly staff at the beach and the reception. The best restorant - La Scala!!! (At the end of Beau Vallon).

A poor country, the price is unreasonably high, the population is lazy and sluggish. The hotel staff at the restaurant is very slow, serve for 2-3 hours, confused orders, bring the wrong food that ordered, with no apologies ... In any case do not take fishing at Beau Vallon! Deceived!

Service erratic sometimes excellent, other times staff very slow. Food OK but nothing special. Some parts of hotel just starting to look a tiny bit shabby but all very clean.

The reception on arrival was welcoming and hospitable, arriving very early the room was made available within 30 mins. Breakfast was excellent everyday and conveniently available up to 10.30. Food was also good on the occasions we had lunch and dinner although quite expensive, even if only a main course was had. Prices at the bar however are quite reasonable and the waiter service is extended to the beach. The standard and efficiency of service in the restaurant and bar was very good and polite with smiling staff. Cars can be hired at the hotel for the going rate of 35 eu per day. Mask, snorkel and flippers are free to borrow from the reception - ideal for the beach area next to the hotel. The long serving guest relations manager - Peggy is good and most helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We are quite happy with our choice of hotel.

It was disappointing that the hotel was only ever half full whilst we were there so the bar and restaurant were lacking in custom and essential atmosphere,which is a shame as the setting and surround is exceptional. The only other negatives were, the standard of general building and furniture/fittings maintenance this was not as good as it should be in the room, this could be overcome with regular inspection and action. The 35euro charge to get to the airport on departure was more expensive than it needs to be as the final memory of service provided by the hotel.

We were married at the hotel. The staff were friendly & so helpful. The wedding was really well organized and special thanks to Ms Peggy for making a great day. The hotel is nice and the area is probably one of the best on the island. It pays to rent a vehicle as the island has some really scenic roads. All in all, a great stay and we would certainly stay at the Sunset Beach again!

Wi-Fi connection not so good!

Very briefly : I have stayed four days. Very poor service in every respect and not worth to money paid !!!!!I If hotel management (which I asked during my stay and have been told not available on site) interested to know my comments you may supply them my email and will told them happily . Note : for this time, I was not happy with the hotel so I marked "price of hotels" and "information about hotels" as poor. Whereas in all my previous reservations tru booking.com, I was fully satisfied.

хорошее месторасположение. собственный пляж, маленький, но уютный. безопасный вход в море, неплохой коралловый риф. маски и ласты можно бесплатно получить на ресепшене. в 10 мин на машине находится один из самых больших и красивых пляжей острова - бо-валон. здесь вы сможете найти 4-5 ресторанов (нам понравилась терраса Le Plage), несколько небольших супермаркетов. стоимость поездки на такси от отеля до бо-валон 150 рупий ($12). рекомендую посетить на сейшелах несколько островов: праслин, ладиг, и др. стоимость перелета с маэ на праслин 60 евро.

ужинали в отели лишь в последний вечер - 01.05 на сейшелах выходной. качество блюд вполне сносное, однако выбор всех видов салатов, супов и основного ограничивался лишь двумя наименованиями. уборка в номерах на "4" - раз в день, смена белья зависит от чаевых.

очень хороший отель! колоритный, уютный, я бы дала ему 4*с плюсом! хорошие завтраки и ужины.

наш номер-вилла находился на берегу океана. пляж этого отеля один из лучших на острове, тк есть постоянный ветерок и вода океана прохладная, в отличии от других пляжей. на пляже безлюдно, местных практически нет. на моей памяти самый не дорогой прокат автомобиля (45евро в день) отдых для "робинзонов". сам пляж очень красивый!

очень плохой сервис - персонал медлительный и ленивый (могут принести чай, оставшийся от других гостей на завтраке - лень идти наливать новый) отвратительный wi-fi, очень медленный и ловит только в лобби, хотя очень дорогой (2 дня 50$)!!! рекомендую другим гостям сразу купить мобильный интернет в городе (3g) и ловит хорошо и по адекватной цене. еда в ресторане отеля чаще не вкусная! цены на острове выше чем в арабских эмиратах, при полном отсутсвии сервиса и качества. плохо убирают номера (белье не меняю по несколько дней, шампунь и жидкое мыло - каждый раз нужно напоминать, полотенца также забываю принести, вещи не раскдладывают) вообще сотрудники отеля не приветливые (хотя не все).

Nice location at beach, breakfast was good quality but no vegetables. Hotel staff is nice and as rest of people in Seychelles not in hurry.

Remote location not safe to walk on roads so taxi is only option after 18:00 hrs but costly. Dinner options is fixed (no ala’cart) and not our favorite and not value for money. And stay away from room No6 as its located on parking area for hotel. Room No 12-18 is nice located close to beach but sewer smell is spoiling the nice view.

La chambre était vraiment pas mal. Belle sdb, chouette petit salon, belle vue. Propreté excellente.

Le petit déjeuner n'est pas à la hauteur du prix demandé. Les taxes qu'il faut encore payer lorsque l'on commande qqch est de trop. 25% en plus du prix alors que ce n'est pas donné !!! Trop cher pour ce que c'est.

Storage capacity in the room is very limited. Restaurant is expensive. No restaurants / shops in walking distance

Close proximity to beach, snorkelling was good. Free Internet access in public areas.

Cockroaches in bathroom. Shower receptacle head did not dispense water. Ants in draws. We ordered food at 5:20pm at the bar from snacks menu only to be rudely spoken back to by waitress that they cannot make food from bar menu any longer as the curfew is now in place. To this I said the bar menu runs from 3pm to 6pm! I asked for the manager and reluctantly they went and made our food. The reason they don't want you ordering food I think is because they want you to have the al a carte menu. We did once and only once as it costs 1400 Seychelles rupees equating to 95 euros! Way way to expensive. Too expensive for whats on offer.
