The complete apartment. The balcony with a lovely view. Clean sheets and towels every day. The peacefulness. Highly recommended, try the new restaurant Del place along the road for great food and location.

    A car is recommended.

The villas are very generously spaced and do have a gorgeous view. Especially, the ones that situated a bit higher up on the hill.

    - Not really a negative, but just one thing to be aware of is that the driveway up to the villas is really steep and perhaps not suited to beginner drivers. - Again not really a negative, but one thing to be aware of is that we had the impression that the clouds hang a bit longer over Port Glaud than over other parts of the island, and rain seemed to be more frequent (comparing the weather forecast of Victoria to the observed weather in Port Glaud).

    The huge outdoor terrace

The lighting was terrible . The loungers were deck level and almost impossible to get out of. There were no hooks in the shower area so you had to throw your towel on the floor while showering.. The 50 steps down to our room and another 25 down to the pool are . Only 3 chairs at the pool for 16 guests.

Probably the most romantic place we've ever stayed.

These are hillside villas so there are lots of steps. Not for the infirm!

One of the most amazing places we have ever stayed...the photos do not do it justice. Beautiful architecture, lovely staff, incredible views, great beach 5 minutes away, gorgeous gardens. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. If you want self-catering on Mahe there CANNOT be a better place.

Beautiful views over the bay, friendly staf, always helpful. Nice child friendly beach with good atmosphere only 2km from the villas. Possible to buy local food on the beach!

The loccation is on the side of the island where les tourist go. This can be a problem for finding groceries and take away in the evening. So always have a packet of spaghetti and some tomato sauce on stock!

The villa was superb and in a great, secluded location that offers the best The Seychelles have to offer! The manager and staff were also brilliant. There is a very nice small pool on site as well. Note that you need a car if you are going to stay there otherwise you will not make the most of it.

The lights inside the house at night are terrible and makes the place very dark and it takes their beauty away (except the bathroom)...

The villa was a wonderful place to stay and relax and offered everything that we needed to do so! I loved the balcony and reading lounge. It's in a quieter part of the island so it's best to have a car to get around it... but you'll want one to see the island anyways. The closest market shop is really only about a 5 minute walk.

Villa (#2) is very beautiful and well equipped. Because the situation is on quite high hill, the scenery to the sea and surrounding area is magnificent. The villa is very clean and the owher (Ulrike) is really helpful and friendly. The area is peaceful. We spent there 10 days in November and we liked it very, very much and so we can recommend this. Accessories for brekfast we found from nearby little mini-market and lunch/dinner we had somewhere out. In this little village we found two little restaurants (opening hours must check!). There is a big hotel with good restaurant about 5 kilometers from Villas de Jardin, there is also a swimming beach. Its is very easy to go to there by buss.

Phenomenal value for the money on an island that can get quite costly. We went there for our honeymoon, and we were looking to stay for 13 nights but wanted a place that was competitively priced. Villas de Jardin had it all. The real estate you get for your money in this huge and gorgeous, modern villa is incredible. The views, the balcony, the outdoor shower.....just gorgeous. Ulrike, the manager, was an exemplary and wonderful lady who was always accommodating to personal needs and provided helpful advise whenever we needed it. Overall an exquisite, unforgettable honeymoon, a significant part of which is due to our stay at the Villa. But realise that this is a self catered villa, albeit with daily room cleaning. Hence if you are looking for a 5 star service resort with everything on site e.g. gyms, restaurants, etc, this is not for you. I would say this is more for a couple wanting to live in a luxurious, quiet, private accommodation, with a sense of an adventure spirit to roam around the island and exploring it by car and via organised excursions. Oh and WiFi is free though it is slow (not unexpected when you are in the middle of the ocean!)

The location of the villa is on the North West coast of the island, and unfortunately because of the adjacent marine park, there are no roads to connect and loop round the northern coast. This means that we had to cross over the mountains every time we wanted to get to the capital for island tours. You WILL need to hire a car and be prepared to drive around alot on frighteningly narrow roads with cliffs hanging on each side! However the pros of this is that it is a very quiet beautiful area and the southern west beaches are gorgeous. Not many good restaurants around, unless you are willing to splurge for gorgeous food at a nearby 5 star hotel!

Ulrike is a superb manager. All of her tips were excellent. The Villas de Jardin is great for couples on honeymoon. The view from the room is spectacular! The Villa is very comfortable, clean and beautiful. Remember that the strength of Seychelles is nature. So forget technology! This is a place to relax!!

The luxury, comfortable and super clean self-catering villa gives you freedom to do and eat whenever and whatever you want. It's location allows you to easily explore the hole island. Besides, every morning you can wake up with this spectacular view over the Indian ocean. Ulrike, the kind manager, has to offer a lot of nice tips about things to do. Thanx to staff we enjoyed our honeymoon to the most!

The check-out time was a little early - 10am, especially when you have your flight at 12pm. However we could store our luggage and have a shower in the evening at their place!

1 - The setting in nature is amazing. 2 - The villa is beautiful except for the bugs in the mattress. 3 - The staff is friendly and one maid even brought us some fruits otherwise difficult to find on this island. 4 - The pool is welcoming but cold. 5 - Overall the local population is very friendly and welcoming.

1 - The beach supposedly in front of the hotel is not for swimming. 2 - There is no TV or radio in the villa. 3 - There are 65 steps to climb from the parking to the villa and 118 more to the pool. 4 - The mattress in villa 7 had some bugs (maybe woodworms) and Ulreke told us that they did not see nothing when they checked but the sawdust each morning on the floor confirmed that there was something. 5 - The villas are very remote and you really need a car that we did not drive at night because it was very dark and dangerous so we felt isolated. 6 - On Sundays, the reception is closed so you are on your own. 7 - The cost of living in the Seychelles is very high, specially the meals. We have traveled to close to 100 countries from Canada but I do not think that the Seychelles are worth the flying time (over 20 hours) and the money. We feel that it is over rated and that tourists are taken advantage of. Too bad, not for the owners of the businesses, but for the local population that really needs to earn a decent living. 8 - The roads are dangerous with very few railings and few lines. If an accident should happen (God forbids) there is no second chance. 9 - The cost to go from one island to another is very high. Again tourists have to pay a lot for a one hour ferry ride. 10 - Victoria has little to offer. Overall, we spent a lot of money but we were disappointed with the beaches (red flag, sand fleas, seaweeds, no services) and the islands in general.

From the minute we set foot in Villas de Jardin, Ulrike (the resort manager) could not do enough to help us. We arrived well before check in time due to an early flight, the villa staff worked hard to get our room ready and to get us checked in as quickly as possible and directed us to a nearby location to have breakfast while we waited. We stayed there as part of our honeymoon and our villa was beautifully decorated with flowers and champagne when we got there. Views from our room were spectacular. A car was also organised by Ulrike and she made several phone calls to check ferries and the like for us during our stay. Thank you so much Ulrike as you made our stay extremely enjoyable :-)

Due to the humidity, the villa seemed a little damp. At night we were joined by numerous lizards due to open vents above windows so one had to be careful not to leave food etc. out where it could easily be accessed. More lighting and curtains would make villa more luxurious and private.
