breakfast was well prepared and it tasted execellent.
Food Atmosphere Waiters Chef Interiors Easy access to nature Personal touch
No wifi in the room (although a pathetic need considering the surrounding natural beauty)
The cleanliness of the hotel, the food, and the efficiency of the staff.
We could not open a window in the room, there was no mosquito screening.
The location in the national park is just great! Also, the facilities at the hotel are nice as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The twin room we got was a bit on the small side. And the food in the restaurant was in my opinion overprized.
Really charming traditional Swedish wood cottage set within wildflowers. Clever use of space and private views from side and back of cottage. The beds were very comfortable! Free wifi and good traditional menu at the restaurant.
Windows opened inwards which was awkward. Shower area was shared with no privacy.
Nice but small room, great wifi, nice lobby and excellent restaurant dinner. Breakfast buffet was good.
Quite expensive, if you're not a hiker there's not much to do in summertime.
Everything else about the hotel especially the fact that they did not even bother apologising for landing a helicopter on our head and we were given very strong hints we were definitely not welcome. "No activities at this time, only for skiers, you should have checked with us instead of relying on booking.com"!, "breakfast is over" and "there must be a problem with all of your devices, the wifi works fine"
Excellent food in an atmospheric restaurant
Price... Sweden is expensive but there is a difference between expensive and too expensive. Restaurant is the latter for young people.
The restaurant was very expensive, really pleased we were self catering. The mini bus taxi service for a 10 minute drive was also too expensive.
The lodges were lovely and the staff accommodating. Make sure to book activities via the Lodge ahead of time (including any necessary transfers to the Turiststation).
As most activities are done at the Abisko Turiststation, the distance from Absiko town to the Turistation is about 2.5km by foot. Keep this in mind before you decide where to stay.
Good for the location and if staying in a group of 4+. Otherwise not worth the money
Stayed in a cabin. All single beds, not good for a couple but nothing else was available. Reception staff were very rude on check out. Bed linen cost 150sk per person even though we only stayed a single night. Bathrooms separate from cabin and hot water is severely limited. Prepare for a cold shower! Also only 2 showers in a communal changing room to serve 5 cabins. Hot tub advertised was not working during the stay. Required to clean cabin using (broken) Hoover before leaving or pay 650sk cleaning charge. Proprietor then accompanied us around cabin to scrutinise our clean before releasing our money. The guesthouse in the same area is similar money and to be brutally honest more of a hostel, but I'd stay there every time rather than give the mountain lodge my money again
Perfect place to see Aurora without paying for a chase or sky station lift. Husky sledding. Must stay in Timber Cabin (although communal shower then) - preferably in snow.
Very expensive. Have to walk (500m up hill) from station as no taxi's and in snow with big bags is a big problem. Supper very expensive.
Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to arrange activities and transport for us, location is amazing, very good value for the money, Cabin exactly what was described
The staff are really nice and welcoming. There's a good spot for northern light viewing just about 50m away.
The room can be a little cold during -30 degree Celsius weather but fret not, they have portable warmer ready,
The hosts are really lovely, the experience is really amazing. It's fantastic to get the "gear" overalls, shoes, gloves etc. as part of the package. We used the sauna and shower facilities every evening since the shower in our shared room was a bit small. The room's are basic, but its understandable since the stay is about the adventure vs. chilling in luxury. The common lounge is very comfortable and cozy, the dinner's were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay and would go back.
Getting to the hotel is a bit of an adventure unless you book the taxi, catch the bus is completely do"able" it's just overwhelming since it's all a bit new and strange when you arrive - I would suggest a little more clarity on "how to get there" ... It's really funny since everyone who arrives on their own bat ... walks around the few snowy streets a little lost and bewildered!
Quiet location, rich breakfast
Too expensive for such a small room! Wifi signal very weak in our room!
I like the location being so close to the mountain and parks. It was quite nice and cozy.
There wasn't enough sockets to plug my gadgets and the kettle. The kitchen didn't have any cups and basic utensils to use and the hallway floor creaks when people walk so it kept me up a bit.
location perfect spot for aurora viewing
the bathroom was kind of inconvenient
Very friendly and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast with freshly baked bread, sensational dinner menus and creative chef! Room in the main building was very basic but surprisingly warm & comfortable! I'd go back just for the fresh breads!
No serious dislikes as everything was just great. A couple of small things - the front room needed an open fire to complete the setting (even a fake gas one), and a warning/alert system to advise when the northern lights were visible would have been helpful.
everything was perfect. the staff was very helpful
The lodge is very cosy, welcoming and has friendly and professional staff. Food is very tasty but be prepared to pay a 50sek+ per person for a three course dinner menu without drinks. Is that Sweden? Maybe...
The rooms and bathrooms were small which would not be a problem if the price was adjusted. We found the room rates a bit steep for the comfort of the comfort that was offered. The lobby would benefit from a fireplace more than a large tv. Prices for activities and any little extra rather elevated.
Close to the other attractions
It's cold on first floor of the cabins at night
The bathroom; the whole floor became à dam while taking à shower - it also became verk foggy in there. We missed better signs to find the place
Location was good
There wasn't coffee maker in the cottage and in the shared shower, there wasn't any kind of privacy.
