The design of the room was fabulous. The room is in a really central position right in the heart of the main shopping area, surrounded by good restaurants and bars and right next to a tram stop. Breakfast was really good with a variety of cold and hot food to suit most nationalities. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Being so central there was a lot going on outside the hotel. This made it impossible to sleep with the window open and we couldn't get the air conditioning to work very effectively. So despite being there in October we were too warm for comfort at night. There was no noise from outside when all windows and doors were closed as the hotel was so well insulated.

Great location. Nice room design. Small lobby, not so wide variety for breakfast. No fitness. Glassdoor WC. Expected more for the price.

Design style and functional and comfortable rooms. Corridors are decorated with original art and photographs. Well located Some of the corridors were too dark and the romm could have had better lighting

Very comfortable beds, great breakfast and friendly staff. Nice extra touch with ability to plug in laptop to tv and dvd-player in room. Offering a room with larger bathtub in open-plan bathroom as a nice feature and then not having bath foam in the hotel is a bit daft.

It is very centrally located with easy access to public transport. It was an excellent choice for a short shopping trip too with all our favourite shops just in the neighbourhood. The beds were fantastic but then Swedes do make good beds... We'll definitely be back but probably not until summer 2012 but if our plans change then we would not hesitate to book the hotel again. I was genuinely looking forward to swimming in the roof top pool which I have admired from the the ground floor for many years. However, in reality you can't really swim in it - two strokes and you are at the other side! Disappointing.

Design of the hotel, the room was lovely, very well thought out, comfortable bed and good quality bedlinen. Loved the glass plunge pool on the roof! However, you couldn't call it a swimming pool. Public areas were great for sitting in and watching the world go by. Staff were very friendly.

Peuple at the desk réception young kind efficient highly professionnel, room 69 is enchanting . top floor pool is a real surprise. Feng shui approach and design and art inspiration a deep source of relaxing and change of mind . We live in france in the city of lyon with my companion the French stylist nicolas fafiotte we are in the habit of five stars resort and hotel and top stars restaurants. I would just regret the barman who had been a little bit impolite and rough with us the night we arrived : because we asked a herbal tea I was answered there was no herbal tea "because it a bar where they only serve drinks !!! : a bit upseting before going to sleep my first night in the avalon : I guess it was late and the bar was about to close but the barman bald and wearing black glasses should learn to be open minded and welcoming with people who like herbal teas .. telling us th bar was closing would have been the great sesam for a perfect time in avalon and we would have taken it in our room . the breakfast is well provided but the ambiance is not really zen because of a few young members of the restaurant staff : lack of cohesion and formation : maybe the barman is the recruiter ???? thanks you for asking

It's a beautifully designed and comfortable hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice is great. Although the central location made it easy for sightseeing, our rooms were in the front, directly opposite a noisy bar which played loud music until 3am. Although I recommend this hotel, I would only stay there again if I got a room at the back, away from the noise.

Hotel location was great the staff where nice and food was good the restraunt and bar and out side area where very nice although the buffet was a bit crowded in the mornings at breakfast. The big disappointment was the room. we paid extra for a superior double room it was sold as an extra spacious room but when we open the door it is one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in, there was defiantly not room for two people and what made matters worst was they had put a large chair in the room in front of the fold out desk if you wanted to use the desk you would have to put the lounge chair out in the hall way so that you could get the fold away chair from the walldrobe to sit at the desk. there big selling point was the hotel had a certificate for its feng shui well I can tell you it was not a carm experience in this room with two people (20 on the 5th floor )bathroom was big but a waste of space for the size of the room.

This is a modern hotel but the design of the rooms has been well thought out. the only hotel I Have stayed in with a Feng Shui certtificate in the lift and it does have a nice feel to it. Very high quality restaurant serving excellent lunches dinners and breakfasts. Very much an in-place with lots of people eating there all day. Great location in the centre of Gothenburg with only a few steps to the Meat Market and trips on the canals. A very comfortable place to stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff with quality bathing products. Some rooms were very far from the lift which makes those rooms very inconvenient. Some rooms were also a little too small, feels very cramped.

The design and comfort of the room. Outstanding bed and linens! The patio of the hotel bar. It was pretty crowded, but we expected to be able to get a drink within 30 minutes. We couldn't get the waiter to notice us for the first 15 minutes we were there. Then we said we needed a menu. It took another 5 minutes for him to bring the menu. Then there were no drinks on the menu, so we asked for a drink menu (by flagging him down.) He came back 5 minutes later with a wine menu. (I really just wanted to see what beers they had, but it wasn't listed on either menu, and waiter was in too much of a hurry for us to ask a question.) So after waiting another 5 minutes for him to come back, we finally just left. I don't know how long we'd have sat there waiting for him.
