Very helpful staff, we could leave our luggage at the hotel before we checked in, as well as after we checked out as we had to wait for a late train. We also took up on their offer on checking in late to check out later which was perfect for us. Rooms are really nice and clean, breakfast is a Nice selection, even though my english partner was hoping for some beans with his eggs.. The bar is Nice to hang out in.
Second room we were shown was better value, with a nice view of the canal.
First room we were offered was small, dirty, smelly with litter on the windowsill and soiled furniture. Breakfast room didn't have enough tables with guests having to sit on sofas and have breakfast off the coffee tables. Interior was dark and not very welcoming.
Design and view, location. Incredible warm and helpful front desk. Personal created heavenly atmosphere.
Perfect location, great facilities and décor. The outdoor rooftop heated pool is amazing and open until 22:00
Some Very rude staff in the restaurant. Especially the one that prepared our table. Will not stay here again
Ok, so I travel to Gothenburg, Helsingborg & Stockholm a lot on business and I've stayed in several hotels in G'burg many times, but as I was bringing my wife this time for leisure I thought I'd try the Clarion. Staff were clueless, the lady at reception knew very little & couldn't tell us when breakfast times ended, what times the Spa were open until, she wasn't particularly interested either. Breakfast was crazy busy every morning & nowhere to sit. And virtually no waiters/waitresses attending to the carnage of empty plates everywhere that people were having to discard on the worktops just so they could make room for their own plates on the tables. Most mornings only 1 of 3 coffee machines working - I saw one waitress (a rarity in itself!) look at it and then just push the milk jug to one side before disappearing! Bedroom small, bathroom had 3 down lighter bulbs not working so it was quite dark. Shower door didn't close properly (stayed open 8 inches) so bathroom got soaked. Floor towel was used once, taken away by room maids but never replaced! Tea in the room was not replaced either after being used first morning. And finally if I could show you an image of view from window you'd shudder in disbelief - view was of a giant aircon unit or watertank, that was all you could see! Avoid room 3086 at all costs! If I went to a sports event you get 'restricted' pricing for tickets with bad views....everything was clearly a premium here as most things were very much below par. Might be ok during a quiet midweek day in Spring but avoid all other busy times. I'll be in G'burg at last 10-12 times throughout 2015, but I won't be staying here again!
Temperature in the toom was not constant
Not much :(
Noice of road and trains. Bad view of trains from roam. Small room. No bad tub even though we specifically asked for it.
Ambiance of the hotel Great breakfast Good beds Large rooms Location
Breakfast restaurant is too small Not enough space in the restaurant in the evening - Be sure to book table well in advance
it was clean.
room quite small.
I liked the interior of the building plus the staff were amazing
The noice from the station just in front my window , and there was no safty box nor slippers
The bar, the soffas and the interiör.
The size and prize of the shrimp sandwich
The location of course is the mainstay of this property. The rooms are very good and spacious. The breakfast is a very good spread.
The pillows were bad for the neck no support at all. Hardly any utilities in the bathroom.
Breakfast, design, room
Too soft beds
Excellent location and fantastic interior. Also has a great bar. Surprise bonus was the drop dead gorgeous Swedish girls doing a fitness class in the lobby!
Woken up by kids next door using a bad as a trampoline
The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was plentiful and the design of the hotel completely inspiring
The location was convenient for transportation, dining and shopping.
The hotel will do much better with providing some the essentials : shower cap, slippers, bath rope, lotion and the like. Doors were extremely hard to pull open. The wifi was suitable for phones and tablets but not laptop computers. We had to buy a mobile Internet card.
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The rooms were spacious and fantastically clean. The service was polite and extremely helpful with dealing with queries. The decor and artwork was highly original and had an air of tasteful modernity while retaining the historic character of the hotel. Tusen tak!!!
There was nothing I disliked - service and comfort during the stay were of the highest standards. Mange tak, vi ses!
Breakfast was superb! so was the location, hotel staff and the services available at the hotel. Keep in mind that this is a popular hotel!
Some quing due to the amount of people living at the hotel. i never experienced it myself, but i could see that there were long lines during the normal check in and check out hours.
Location was good - easy to walk to all areas of Gothenburg. Breakfast buffet was plenty, but...(see cons)
Breakfast hours could be extended during the weekend.
location helpfulness of staff
all the doors for both rooms the staff tried to give me had batteries run out - so i could not access my room until i had been back to reception three times. not the hotel's fault but it was an inconvenience anyway.
Great breakfast with Swedish touch. Exelent service.
The location is good, located right next to the central station. The rooms are new and well decorated. Free WIFI but with very weak signal.
It's a business hotel with a lot of meeting and company guest. It's a very busy hotel. The check-in and check-out line took times as many guests stay at the hotel but has limited number of staffs. The hotel has many rooms so It took awhile to walk from the elevator to the room. Most of the staffs are very nice except one. I had asked the staff at the front desk to print out the document. She gave me the hotel e-mail address. While I was sending the e-mail which just took a couple minutes, she just walked to the office without saying anything. I thought she went there to get me the document, so I stood there for like 10 minutes. She never came back! I had to ask other staff to print it out for me instead.
Great location. Very flexible staff at the reception when checking in. Nice inside bar. Great prawn sandwiches on the terrace.
Small room. A bit noicy in the breakfast room. Difficult to find everything at breakfast as coffee, for example, was placed behind a wall. And where can we find a hotel with scrambled eggs made of fresh eggs, not powder and water?
