Expensive breakfast when all you want is black coffee and one toast

Good location, nice view from the lobby bar.

Very bad smell from the kitchen all over the hotel. Old building. Nice old but not allways correct working elevator.

The location is good. Nice buzz in the restaurant and bar.

Somewhat officious female reception staff - civil but not particularly welcoming and rather inflexible with anything that isn't strictly (and I mean strictly) according to the (lengthy and tiresomely lugubrious) Swedish rulebook. Don't try to have the reception night staff relay any information regarding your bill to the morning staff that takes over at 7.30am - they will get it all wrong as indeed was my experience. Based on years of travelling to the region, take it form me - if you would like a modest degree of flexibility on anything in Scandinavia (such as late check out, early check in, disabled access both to the hotel and in the rooms, assistance with carrying suitcases at the Diplomat) perhaps visit Norway or Denmark - they take themselves far less seriously there.

I have been staying in the hotel for years and like the family who owns it.

I don´t like all the steps in the hotel and room.

Very nice breakfast buffet. Comfy rooms.

The price it a bit stiffer than some other hotels in the area, had expected a bit more luxury, but the hotel and rooms are more than ok.

The location is perfect. An eight min. Ride on the bus to the Stockholm central station (you can even walk) The hotel is perfect, and is actually an old restored building. Very fancy :-)

Good location. Very comfortable rooms and free Wi Fi. The staff are very helpful.

The only disappointment was that there were no tea making facilities in the room. We are well travelled and most hotels have this facility. However we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Diplomat.

Wonderful location, beautiful older hotel and a fabulous breakfast and outside cafe.

Would like to them have a women's bicycle to use.. I am petite and the men's bicycle was diffcult to use.

We stayed 3 days at the Diplomat, and found it central for everything - boats, trams buses etc. It is a very comfortable hotel, with helpful staff, and I´d have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.It has a rather strange antique lift, but this just added to the character of the hotell

Lovely stylish art Nouveau hotel in a great location on the waterfront .Comfortable lounges and outside bar with a fairly laid back atmosphere .Breakfast buffet was excellent and a highlight of our stay!Served in light and airy bar area with great views and serving staff were excellent ,very helpful and attentive

The front of house staff on the desk were helpful and professional,but could have been more welcoming and friendly

Old style of building, picturesque setting and top notch service.

The fact that 2-3 times in our 2 day stay, the old fashioned style elevator had been improperly closed (probably by another quest) making it unusable and we had to walk several flights both up and down from our room on th 5 th floor.
