Convenient location near train station and ski rental shop.
Not a bad experience, but felt the value was questionable for such a high priced room. Hotel hallways, bedroom, and particularly bathroom decor was quite utilitarian. Definitely not luxurious which one could be forgiven for expecting given the high prices.
The resort hotel is large and clean, the swimming pool was great for kids, the hotel room was adequate size with a sitting area. We had a lovely view of the lake and a nice terrace to sit on in the afternoon. Parking was free and adequate for the number of guests. Close proximity in-town, grocery and shopping, choice of restaurants (some excellent), and 10 minute drive to ski slopes. State wine store 6 minute walk.
$668 U.S.D. for 3 nights, average size room, two single beds, broken shower stall retrofit with a zip-tied curtain (tacky), no toiletries, extra fees to use the Saunas, breakfast foods were marginal poor quality. Åre is a quaint, but small ski resort with nice downhill skiing, but more limited x-country skiing with trail fees for badly groomed ski trails! DVD system did not operate. Terrible restaurants on the premises.
Good location near services
Staff not really service oriented
Ease of access to the village and slopes Staff were all polite and friendly and spoke excellent English very convenient ski shop in the hotel for rentals and ski pass purchase The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable Free access to the waterworld was a bonus after a long ski day
The inclusive breakfast was very comprehensive but would have been nice to have the option of a la carte as well.
Good choice of facilities
No explanation or apology given when things went wrong - double charged for our room (took 2 hours to get our money back, and lost the international money exchange commission on both transactions so ended up paying for their mistakes). Fire alarm turned us out in the snow at 3am with small children - absolutely no explanation or apology!
The dressing rooms in the swimming pool are in very poor condition, especially the showers. Show signs of being worn and old.
Bowling alley, large gym, kids club, good breakfast!
I wish I had known about the kids club Also Wish I knew you had to reserve times there for your kids to play. Gym Was great but I wish there was toys/balls you could rent to Use otherwise it was kind of useless.
Very very poor breakfast, not good quality of food, hotell use only very cheap products, food should be much better in the 4 stars hotell, especially during Christmas and New Year everybody expect little beat more, nothing extra in sauna and spa world - there are not even water to drink, nobody from the staff in the spa area, bad Wifi,
Excellent location - close to everything: train station, town center, lake (to do cross country skiing), alpine ski slops, etc. Great having water park/large swimming pool with Sauna World directly in the hotel.
The air conditioner in the room was too intense. Was chilly at night in the room.
The water park is excellent, the kids loved it! Also there were many activities for kids to enjoy during our stay
The hotel room is a bit worn, the fact that we had ordered a family room and had to make the kids bed upon arrival, a family room with single beds!?!? I expected a double bed for the adults
No doubt it caters well to average family looking to let kids have fun. Can't argue that.
Breakfast plentiful but low quality and boring for parents. Kids enjoyed it.
Holiday Club Åre is a good place to stay when you are in Åre.
Just about everything! Breakfast in particular was excellent, as were the lovely staff.
No double beds in double rooms - they are only available in suites.
- the swimming pools - Location
- it costs 300kr for a babycot. - it costs extra to enter Saunaworld
Sauna-world was good and free to enter. Breakfast were quite nice also. Free wi-fi, quite fast
Rooms were not cleaned properly, so dirty under the beds! Be careful not to leave your car at the parking lot by the railway, cos you need to pay for parking there. Stuff didn't inform us at the arrival time. There is printed information at the reception, but after the long trip to reach Are do you read everything what's writen around..
- Excellent swimming pool and kids facilities.
- We had to wait for several hours for the cot for my two years old girl at 10pm at night when we arrived. There is not sufficient personnel in the hotel. The hotel receptionist is also running the icecream shop at the other side of the hotel and cleaning facilities, a bit of "fawlty towers" experience. We never received apologies for the mess and the personnel acted arrogant and unhelpful. - The information about the breakfast was provided wrongly at the hotel room and we missed the breakfast as a result on the first morning.
If you have children, it will be a perfect hotel
To big, and no cozy areas. To messy at breakfast To many Children
Good food Nice pool area Nice rooms
There were several parties with lots of noise in the same corridor as we had our room. It was difficult to sleep and both me and my husband were awake the most of the night. The 2nd evening the guards stopped the party and the people were thrown out of the hotel. The hotel should have guards that walk around to listen if there is any parties around in the hotel. The hotel should also try to place families with young kids in the same corridor and people travelling without kids/ young people in another corridor to avoid this problem.
Great pool area, very friendly staff, excellent free breakfast with lots of options, right next to the train station
Not a close walk to the ski lifts
din bar ogo restaurang, flott badeland
Nice lobby with open fire, Wallmans show, terrific breakfast, good reaturant, large and clean rooms.
Poor access to the ski slope - no transfer from hotel to the lift and back, hard walk in ski boots with skis on the back to the ski buss. Frequency of buss trips too low.
Very good breakfast. Kids enjoyed free access to pool.
Had to walk far to room, did not have wheelchair accessible for son with full-leg cast.
The design of the hotel. Proximity to city center and good food store.
Recuring problems with electronic key-cards. Same limited menu in resturant during stay. Queing for breakfast and once in, queing for coffe and juice because of too few and broken down automats. The so called Sauna World has only one sauna with some deacent heat, where ignorant quests complain if one trows water on the stones like one is supposed to in a real sauna. Cleaner waking up my daughters for wanting to clean at that very instant, later leaving the door unlocked.
The facility with the fantastic pool.
No one informed us at the booking or at the check-in about the ongoing roof-works. We woke up every morning to the noice of drilling machines and intensive hammering. Too many mistakes were made during our stay to give a professional impression. The staff generally lacks training and experience. The hotel is located far away from the skiing and bus connections are, to say the least, poor.
Spa & sauna world, friendly service
Some sauna's in the saunaworld were not in operation, why?
