Hotell Oskar

The hotel was very central, clean, very comfortable. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the nearby Grand Hotel was superb.

Everything in the hotel was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The only problem we had was the pin code. You get a pin code to get into the building when you book your room. Unfortunately ours did not work. We were lucky because someone was there cleaning the room, otherwise we would not have been able to get into the building. That would have been a problem since our phones were not working. We are staying there again for two more days do hopefully the problem will be resolved

Close to my venue, clean, great shower note 2 of the questions above are impossible to answer: Hotel Oskar does not offer any service and there is no personnel. Seems unfair to rate them on those two issues.

Extremely noisy, recycling trucks at 5am tons of glass bottles tumbling into metal containers. Large trucktrailer (schenker) allowing is engine to idle for what seemed like hours (7-8am) A carpenter, drawing out nails and banging away at 6.45 in the morning. The windows were not sound proofed in any way, my bed could have been out of doors! Also kind of scary, I was in room 103. The room is adjacent to the stairs and the main entrance, and I was awaken several times by goings and comings of other guest. Being awaken in a foreign environment by noises you cannot immediately define is very unpleasant. The tv connection had not been attended to, thankfully, I'm a little handy so with a fingernail file I managed to get the usual programs. The shower was lovely, but the lighting in the bathroom exaggerates every wrinkle, putting on make-up is impossible. So after a sleepless night, with make-up askew it was time for work, pssh! Personally, I want my money back as I do not believe I received value for money paid. I can confidently say that I will not chose Oskar again nor will I recommend it to my friends or colleagues.

The location of the hotel is excellent and easy to find. It's always interesting to me how the Scandinavian countries think things through so that they are efficient with minimal waste unlike the UK where we just seem to pay people very low wages and consequently end up with poor service.

I am over six foot three, so it's not always easy for me in a loft-converted room. Building work opposition is a little imposing.

Simple, comfortable room. Internet included. Nice breakfast.

No staff on duty most of the time so disconcerting when first arriving. No problem after that.

The hospitality makes me feel at home, no other hotel can offer environment like this even in 5 stars hotel. They always kept the tidiness in detail, it makes me very comfortable. I am sure to stay again here once I go to Lund. The location is just perfect, and pleasant.

Pleasant little hotel and a nice room in a good location. The reception was only staffed in the morning, but it was easy to get ahold of the hotel staff when they weren't there and they were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in Lund.

No breakfast

The hotel staff that I met personally were probably the kindest I have ever experienced and I have stayed at many hotels. Since it is a smaller place and in a good location, it was very quiet; I didn't have any noisy neighbors. The place is apparently a recently remodeled house so everything was like new and clean. My bed was very comfortable (I booked the queen; the twins are too small for my preference). I also liked that they included breakfast with the room at the Grand Hotel (during my stay) and Hotel Lundia (I believe the usual location); both within 1 minutes walk. Although both have really good buffet style breakfasts, I preferred the wider selection of breakfast choices at the Grand Hotel restaurant and their more spacious dining area.

The heaters in my room were not nearly hot enough for my body even when fully on. I needed one of the hotel staff to bring me a portable space heater and that solved the problem. I would think they should just turn up the radiators more. The cafe next door, for example, had plenty of heat coming from their wall radiators so I know it's possible. It would be nice if they had a phone in the lobby area to call the hotel staff instead of using your own phone because you may not have one or may be paying international rates as in my case. They should also have an email address for sending questions to for quick non-emergency responses. Maybe they have this but I didn't see it on any of the info paperwork.
