Hotel Royal    

A spacious hotel with large breakfast room and comfortable lounge and reading rooms. Coffee/tea available 24hours, afternoon tea, newspapers and magazines provided. Room was spotless and well appointed. The staff were friendly, helpful and true professionals.

There was nothing to dislike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Stylish and elegant. Very friendly staff. Home made cakes, tea and coffee available all the time for free. Perfect location.

Nothing. Obviously it doesn't have a pool etc, and the rooms are fairly small, but they're comfortable and the place was just great!

Friendly helful staff. They welcomed me & made me feel relaxed even they helped me to send a passport scan urgently in no time. Excellent location, great breakfast, good internet connection & clean. Room was a bit small but that was expected for that rate. When visiting gothenburg it's a must to stay in Hotel Royal.

Friendly accommodating and service minded staff. Good breakfast. Rooms are good but mine was too small to be called large... Love the coffee/cake in the afternoon

Room too small (since my confirmation said LARGE) No bed table which is strange. Hate to put my things on the floor. Toilet area very small.

Our room was quiet and cute, beds very comfortable too. We also felt very relaxed sitting downstairs in the common area reading the papers and having some coffe and cake. The breakfast was good too!

The room was a little bit small but certainly not uncomfortable. There was someone smoking in the courtyard and the smoke drifted into our room at night which was annoying. Overall really good stay however.

A great hotel, cosy, friendly, comfortable, friendly staff and really good breakfast. What more could you want!

Decor updated since my last visit and brings it up to date with the new hotels in town. Staff very welcoming.

I can simply quote a series which was on the British TV named Absolutely Fabulous. Within metres from the central station, the big shopping mail Nordstan and just within the old city boundaries everything is almost around the corner. Olders hotel in the city. The style is there, for the remainder it is very up to date. Breakfast is perfect for a good start. Another big plus is the location just outside the busy streets so except for the noises you will hear in about every city it is a quiet spot.

Nice, well kept, old hotel, started in 1854. This gives a wonderful atmosphere for a nice stay in Goteborg. The hotel is very central, took less than 5 minutes to walk from the central station to the hotel, and even less to the main shopping center, and lots of other stores in the nearby streets. The hotel is not suitable for people trying to loose weight, as they offer different cakes every day for free in the lobby, together with tea & coffee. Several great restaurants only few minutes walk away from the hotel.

The hotel is quite old, and while being well kept, the sound insulation is not enhanced much, if any. People outside does not need to be very loud for you to hear them, so asking for a room facing the courtyard can be a good idea.

Beautiful old building, I loved the staircase. The staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is good. All in all a good deal.

The breakfast was totally ok. Still, we missed the bacon and real coffee (as in cappuccino/espresso not the Swedish brew). Rooms perhaps a little small.

The athmosphere in the hotel, very nice. Very near to central station and bus terminal, good. Near to the centre of the city. Very quiet roon to the yard.

I stayed at the hotel for only a few hours. The location is excellent, a 5 mins walk to the Central Station. The exterior is unassuming but my room, however small, had all the necessary equipment and was spotlessly clean. Nice staff, very quiet, excellent value for money.
