The bed was amazingly comfy, the rooms beautiful but still keeping in touch with the feeling of being on a sailing ship. The breakfast was delicious. And the price reasonable considering the amenities being provided and the location right down by the central station and main shopping centre. The shower floor wasn't tilted properly and water tended to go everywhere. But that wasn't a problem so long as you didn't leave your clothing lying around.

Fun to stay on ship. Good breakfast. Good location. No tea and coffee making facilities in room. No safe in room. No wardrobe or drawers for clothes. Our double room provided three hangers and four hooks only.

The Barken Viking is very interesting being a converted old ship, it is right on the riverside and extremely close to central station which makes it quick and easy to get to if travelling in on bus from Landvetter Airport. It is also very quiet which is great for being so close to the city center. The breakfast was great. Overall the hotel was really interesting and worth it if you want to stay somewhere different to usual.

Loved it. Especially cozy when cold and rainy outside. Very good breakfast. The upper deck bar wasn't open, but it should be awesome on a sunny day! Restaurant wasn't open, but there are a number of restaurants nearby.

It's an amazing sailing ship moored in a great central location Bar and restaurant were closed the whole time. Access to the deck, which is the best part of being on a boat, was consistently denied. Plus we got told off for bringing our own drinks there. All due to some interim issues following a change of owners, we were told, but not acceptable, especially at the price. Room had nasty uncomfortable beds and no clothes storage facilities, just some wall hooks. No control of heating or ventilation and portholes did not open.

Ambiance of the ship! Cosy rooms and beautiful interior of the ship. Close to big shoppingcentre and central station (with busstation to/from airport) at walking distance. No facilities on board, no bar/restaurant. Noisy room with small windows unable to open

I love unusual places to stay so this made a nice change. The quality of the decor and the space in my cabin was great. Breakfast was almost in the dark. No one was around to guide me to the right place to sit or where everything was, no none said anything to me in the morning. And when I ran out of hot water for tea, they were not quick to replace it.

Almost everything was perfect. Good standard, charming sea-connected details, friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious. I strongly recommend to stay in this hotel. The connection to wireless in my room was good. However, the access to the internet itself has been slow sometimes.

The location on the water right in the centre of town. The traditional wood panelling decor. And just because it features on lots of postcards of Gothenburg!

The 'hotel' which should really be described as a 'flotell' is unique, being a 1908-build four masted steel sailing ship larger than Cutty Sark and maintained to a very high standard. The cabins are relatively small compared to a purpose built hotel but the sense of being part of a tradition more than makes up for that. Nothing - it is to me the best hotel in Gothenburg

I enjoyed staying on a historic ship that had been converted into a comfortable hotel in a convenient spot in the centre of Gothenburg. You can't open the portholes so the rooms are cooled by excellent air conditioning.

Very unusual and in a perfect location so close to the city centre. Good food - mainly fish ! - and friendly staff. They keep the ship in excellent condition. I think the cabins, whilst quite large & kept on a nautical theme, were not quite as good as the overall standard of the ship suggests. The portholes were all sealed shut, so no window opened for bentilation & there were no minibar or tea or coffee making facilities. It was still enjoyable & I would stay there again if I returned.

Very good experience staying in a real clipper, in a traditional wooden cabin very "maritim" deco, confortable bed, clean room and bath, breakfast delicious and the staff was professional and helpful. Would sure come back in summer with my son ! The restaurant and bar were closed for the 2 nights I stayed. Check-out time is very early - 11:00 - eventhough I asked for a delay and I got it
