I booked fairly late, and clearly there were few rooms left. As a result, the price was inflated beyond what I would regard as a fair rate. This was paid for by Lund University - I was advised to stay here. I checked that the normal rates are fairly reasonable, so why inflate the prices for late bookings to such an extent? That's plain exploitation! The room was substantially more expensive for one night than my scheduled (not cut-price) airline flight to Copenhagen.
Furthermore, for my money I was allocated a room on the first floor overlooking the street at a time when school students were celebrating their graduation - so very noisy indeed in the early morning.
Additionally, the free wifi was not functioning (too much traffic perhaps?) when I arrived in the early evening. Only late in the evening did it operate properly.
I travel a lot, and visit many city hotels. This was the most expensive hotel room I have occupied for a very long time. The previous ones of comparable price were in New York and London and considerably more spacious, each with impressive views. Attractive and pleasant as Lund may be, I really don't expect to be paying big city rates for a room that is so ordinary.
Location was great and staff friendly.
