Cheap parking, albeit outdoors.
I asked for a room with wooden floor, but got one with carpets. These had not been vacuumed for a long period of time... The cleanliness of the bathroom was OK. Location of the hotel was next to a noisy harbour, noisy even at night.
Price, location and bed were okay.
Delay to check in. My bedroom window looked into an internal store room within the hotel. No switch for light in the bathroom (or bulb gone). The hot food at breakfast was sub-standard (other options were okay).
We liked that it was within walking distance to Uddevalla town center, and by the water. The included breakfast was very good, and we could purchase a packed lunch. We thought the staff was very nice. The hotel was very clean.
We were disappointed that they did not give us two rooms on the same floor, something we had asked for, but that was minor to us. Also very frustrated that we could not contact the hotel. Their number listed is a non-working number. Is this due to a booking.com regulation? We had to pay for parking, and was very upset that they did not explain the parking rules. We were fined 350 Swedish Crowns for having one of the wheels touching the white line between two parking spaces, in spite of the parking lot being 2/3 empty. When we returned with the ticket after having checked out, they told us that the parking lot was not managed by them, but by a company, and did not take any responsibility for what happened to us. We were on our way to Norway, and tried to pay the ticket from there, but did not have the needed information to do so on the ticket. So we had to drive back across the Swedish border to pay, but a bank there also said no. And a police station could not help us either. We were quickly approaching a deadline where the fine would double plus further fees due to trying a phone number on the ticket for several days, which was constantly busy. We ended up mailing a letter to a box address on the ticket. Only then did we get the needed information to pay the ticket. They would not pay us back for extra gas money back to Sweden, and we still owed the ticket. We feel that this is done purposely to collect extra money from the hotel guests. We will never drive by car to Sweden again as the parking company is all over Sweden. This would not happen in Norway, and Norway is a beautiful country to visit, so I suggest skipping Sweden if you want to drive your own car, and enjoy Norway instead. I live in the USA.
Near the center of the town. Nice breakfast.
At first sight the rooms seemed upgraded, but it was really old-fashioned and weared. But still we have booked for a new stay, so it was ok for us.
Appreciated the Viet verk Mich, and tjat we had several rooms.
