This charming family owned hotel is located amid beautiful gardens close to a lake, vast forests and the untamed Västerdala river.

All 14 en suite bedrooms have their own character and individual style. Värdshuset is a charming cultural retreat with a relaxed atmosphere; no tv or telephones in the bed rooms. The entire inn is a non-smoking environment.

The award winning restaurant is well known for its special menus, wines and high quality local produce. Both the hotel and restaurant are certified by Swedish environmental organisations such as the Nordic labelling organisation Svanen.

This award winning restaurant is renowned for its interesting menus and high quality local produce.

The restaurant is mentioned as one of Sweden's first eco-gastronomic kitchens and we are members of Slow Food; a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization that was founded in 1989. We also stock some wonderful wine.

Area information

The small picturesque village of Dala-Floda is extremely rich in cultural traditions. The air is fresh and even the water from the lake is drinkable!

There are many golf courses, vast hiking tracks, fishing and canoeing possibilities and bike tracks amongst peaceful countryside.

By car you can visit some wonderful gardens, antique shops and many other places of cultural interest in the historic province of Dalarna. The artists' homes of Carl Larsson and Anders Zorn are also within easy reach. The Dalhalla Open Air Opera is approximately 60 minutes from here.

The owners went out of their way to make it a very pleasant and memorable experience. The rooms are very nice and clean. The meals were fantastic.

The surroundings, including the large and well kept garden were very beautiful, the (apparently new) owners were friendly and the public areas of the hotel were interesting

For the price charged the room was very basic and the bathroom small, with a door that didn't really shut properly. The shower had to be hand- held since the wall attachment was broken. The breakfast choice was fairly limited and the bread was stale. The evening meal, which was optional, was priced at 450sek per person. This was decidedly expensive for what was provided.

Le village rustique, l'accueil chaleureux de nos hôtes toujours prêts à nous conseiller pour la visite de la règion. Cet hôtel de charme convivial propose des petits déjeuners de qualité et le soir à partir de 19h. des repas très fins. Pour les amoureux du calme, de la nature et du "bien manger"... c'est l'idéal.
