The town doesn't strike me as somewhere to spend a lot of...
The town doesn't strike me as somewhere to spend a lot of time. It has some interesting buildings and old streets to wander around, there are a couple of interesting museums in the centre but the reason why we go there each year is to see the sommarteater på. Karlshamns Kastell. You need to understand Swedish for this but if you do then this is highly recommended. A brilliant experience each year.

Small city but very charming.
Small city but very charming. We ate in an excellent Thai restaurant, named Gourmet Thai. Very nice bike trails, between the fields, houses, woods, very well marked and flat terrain. Good supermarkets, and many stores. We were actually staying in Kolleviks, we went biking to Karlshamn.MariaLuxembourg

I wanted to preview owning such a boat so this was a great way to sample the lifestyle. A smaller boat is not a hotel room, so people have to be realistic about motion of the vessel and limited space. But I was comfortable. The boat had shore electricity, so energy use (for a heater) was not a problem.
