Bus stop just ourside the hotel. The fare to city is only $1.6. Taxi to airport is only $12. Free 24 hours wireless internet access. There is no window in the triple room we stay. It lets you feel there is no different between day and night.

The room is clean, nice and comfortable. After check out, I asked the front staff to help me to call a TAXI/Cab due to heavy rain. He refused to help and telling it was engage. After waiting for ages. I gave up and stood under the rain to get the cab with my mother who is 79yo. This is how they treat old people. It is a comment not complaint they should be care of aged people.

Like with most Hotel 81 spots you get what you pay for here, but that's not to say that what you get is bad. I had a cozy room with a window, and the bathroom had an actual bathtub and maneuverable shower head that was in a different area than the toilet, which is rare for hotels in Singapore, so that was really nice. All in all it was a great place to stay, and the Joo Chiat Road location was amazing! Lots of places to eat, and it's surprisingly quiet! Only a 5-minute walk to Geylang Serai as well! The only problem was that the air conditioner had a tendency to leak. It was pouring out, nor were there big puddles, but you'd get brown stains on the floor because droplets of water had been running down the wooden closest and night table which was located right below the air conditioner. The overall look/design of the room could use an update as well.

The hotel is spanking clean and very conveniently located. We were very impressed with the services. Thank you Hotel 81 Opera. you made our stay so very comfortable The television...our room definitely needed a better one :) and the glass tray just below the tv should be removed. I didnt see it while moving around and banged my forehead black and blue.

Cheap and reasonably clean. Too much fragrance. The room right opposite my room was painted and the smell of fresh paint is bad. No one offer to move me to another room; I was too busy to do anything about it although I wasn't happy about it, because I was there for only 2 more days.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and were very obliging when my family came and took me to live with them at home thus cutting short my stay. The location in Joo Chiat Road was central and close a vegetarian restaurant As I know Geylang very well I was able to find my way around easily My only complaint was that the rooms were rather small for an "Ang Mo" there was barely enough room to turn around in the bathroom let alone shower.

“I like the location of the hotel. It's near to the bus stop, the 24-hour Kopitiam, the museums and Orchard Road. Also, the housekeeping staff was polite. I also like the fact that there was free WiFi included with my package when I booked through this site, and that the assistant manager helped me to connect my iPod to the Net when I was having difficulty.” Liana, Jakarta |

“Although the hotel is located right smack in the center of red-lights area with ladies standing around for their business ventures, the hotel itself clean and felt safe enough. Also, the location is good for eating and drinking till really late. It was a fair value for the money.” Yo, Mito |
