Low price. Not too far from mrt. Clean room. Lcd TV.Free wifi. The price showed on the booking list doesn't include the vat and service charge,so the actual room rate is not so cheap.

I am happy with the place, and I wanted to stay at it again whenever I visited Singapore. Thank you for the assistance in the booking. Sincerely, Vincent The hot water was not really working. Another inconvenience I faced was that they don't offer shuttle pick-ups/drop offs from the airport, so the taxi fares were quite high. Thank you, Vincent

To the Hotel Manager: I would like to bring to your attention the outstanding job one of your staff named Albert Mukkan at Hotel 81 Palace helped me with during my stay with you on the 18th Oct 2011. He went out of his way to help me with my Wifi connection which I was having considerable trouble with. His courtesy and patience in attending to my needs was exemplary. His is a credit to your organisation and I hope that you will pass on to him my congratulations and thanks on a job well. I have stayed in your hotels before and will continue to do so in the future and also I will recommend your organisation to my friends. Yours sincerely, Andrew Campbell The wifi signal was not good..It was very a weak signal. I had to change hotel location to the Hotel 81 Star which Albert Mukkan assisted me with.

We stayed in a standard twin room for two nights on a quick weekend gateway and we were very happy with the hotel especially it is among one of the cheapest you can find in the city. Unlike some of the other comments the other guests left, we find the hotel clean and tiny. The room was well-equipped with all the basic necessities such as hair dryer, kettle, coffee powder, mug, facial paper, toilet paper, clean towels, tooth brush and toothpaste, mini comb and two bottles of water each day (our savior spending the day around the city in an average of 30 degree Celcius). Plenty of TV channels to choose from. The two elevators were very useful especially for elderly and people with lots of luggage. The hotel is 6-storey high. The cleaning lady was very quick on tidying the room (it was a surprised that she speaks in our dialect, Cantonese) even though we arrived a bit early than the normal check-in time (we arrived at about 1pm) too and no extra charge was added (we did send the hotel manager Nora a special request before hand). Very friendly staff too especially one of the receptionists, Sophia, was very helpful. Love the location, about 10 minutes walk from the Aljunied MRT station and if you needed a 5-minute taxi ride, it only costs about SG$4 (you will need one on a rainy day which happened to us when we checked-out from the hotel). There are plenty of cheap local eateries serving rice noodles and kaya toast right at the door step. Hotel 81 Palace is right opposite Hotel 81's other branch, Geylang, and Palace looks 10 times better and newer (with the blue exterior) than Geylang. We also preferred Palace than Hotel 81 Lucky because Lucky is situated right in the heart of the red light "street", can be a disturbance to female travellers, and Palace is located on a quieter street on Lorong 16 Geylang with a couple of temples by the side which looked safer and securer. Very tiny room with very small beds (the single bed is extremely small, even for Asians standard), will recommend the double room if you don't mind sharing a bed, the double bed did look bigger and more spacious than the singles. Shower over toilet, it was okay for us but the floor can get a bit wet after showers. The hotel is situated in the red light district, if you are a female traveller travelling alone, try not to return to the hotel late at night, there will be "uncles" checking you out from head to toe and some will even ask for your price. GST tax and service charge are not included in the booking.com bill, there will be about 15% charge on top of the overall hotel rental. Make sure you bring enough money because you will have to pay at check-in.

The price was our first attraction, but as this is a Tourist class chain of hotels we felt safe choosing this because usually a standard has to be met. The standard of the hotel was certainly very good and we wouldn;t hesitate to stay there again. Clean rooms, tea making facilities provided, lot's of hot water, flat screen tv, wired in hair drier and every thing worked

Hotel 81 Palace has nearby restaurants and mini-groceries so there's no problem if you got hungry in the middle of the night; it is also walking distance away from an MRT station. Staff at the reception are also very nice. I was in Singapore for only 3 days and 2 nights, and most of the time I was out of the hotel- I don't think I can say anything I didn't like.

It had avaibilities while others were full. We were in its area, we didn't want to look for a hotel in another area. It was correct, not more. Two things were nice: 1) Free wifi for people who booked a room 2) we had already paid 4 nights, then we HAD to leave one day before and the hotel accepted to refund the last night. Nothing to hang our clothes out of our luggage: difficult when you stay more than one night. Our room was extremely small.

Not a bad location. Lots of ethnic shopping and close to the metro transit. Hotel staff are friendly and accomodating. Price is probably the main factor in my decision to stay there. Rooms are small and would be difficult for two people.

Not far from MRT station, just walk about 10minutes from hotel, or take a taksi about 5dollars to MRT station. When I checked in, receptionist told me that I couldnot get a price that I've booked via internet because it's not paid yet in the system. So he offered me current price for 2nights.Singapore $110nett/per night. my room little bit narrow for 2people,i dont get any soup when i checked in to the room.I think price is little bit higher, maybe because of newyear.I cant see anything from my window because my room is in the middle of the building. No taxi standby around hotel but you can just stop the passing taxi in front of the hotel street.

This is great value for money and one of the better Hotel81 chain. Has been renovated and is in a great location for local food and 'colourful characters'. Hotel is not luxurious but comfortable for a short stay. If you want to see the old Singapore, stay in this area. We have never had any difficulties and the locals are friendly.

The rooms are fairly clean At least there was one Indian(?) front desk/reception who was very attentive to the guest. The rest, shamely, they don't even bother to look at me and my family..They didn't even wish us welcome...I Wished them first..Very bad experienced.. Very poor front desk reception. Treat people differently...even you spoke politely to them. Poor sitting/waiting facilities at the lobby...imagine you have old folks from far away having to stand all time while waiting for their rooms to be ready...FYI Only 3 chairs are available. Bathroom shower pointed towards door~flooding outside. Frontdesk staff not properly trained for the hospitality business. Appeared very racist and unkind...If not because I've made the booking earlier, I would have change hotel.

Is centralise situated in Chinatown. Easy access to other places. And the price is affordable. The room although was non-smoking room, my room has the cigerrate smoke smell linger in the room. Hotel situation within the red-light district area, lots of "customer" coming in/out from the hotel.
