Staff are very helpful and tried to accommodate what I've requested. The hotel is really nice and is truely a luxirious hotel. Only thing is the location being away from the shopping area.

Nothing that requires mention I did not like the laid back attitude. This is the first 4* hotel I have stayed not only in Singapore but elsewhere, especially in the east, where newspapers are placed in a pouch outside every room adjacent to my room on my floor but none on my door. The first day I assumed this was an oversight & asked the concierge for one which I got. The next day & the last day this was repeated which shows the lack of interest. The bed lined was never changed on all 3 days even though it was quite creased & crumpled. The room is not vacuumed - at least for the 2 days when I was in the room. The room cleaning is complete in literally 5 mins!! There was also a pool party one late evening and my room (612) is on this level so the noise/ music was disturbing.

We liked how the hotel was very clean and while it was big you didn't feel like it. The rooms were spacious complete with a bathrobe to use. The bed was very comfortable and the down pillows were great after a week with other hotel pillows. The location of Amara Singapore is walking distance from the mrt (5 min), rail station (15 Min) and China Town (15 min). We were surprised to find the Czech Microbrewery right there in the hotel as well. Overall great hotel and definitely recommended. Our floor was smoking although our room smelled fresh. The smell was strong in the hallway. The cleaning lady was also a little pushy when we sad we didn't want our room cleaned. Breakfast was over priced, go the the coffee shop next door or street bakery across the street.

Hotel was recently fitted out - made the rooms and the common areas feel new and fresh. The pool area could do with a facelift - night time lighting, outdoor bubble spa, waterfall and more tropical feel. Don't bother going to the Prague restaurant downstairs - overpriced with average food. The beer was 6/10 and also overpriced.

Generally all staff that I came into contact with were friendly, warm and charming. Was out attending conferences most of the day; but one day when I came back early (3pm) and found my room was not yet made up/cleaned; however the cleaning lady immediately serviced my room with apologies and smiles. Front desk staff were very helpful all the time. Surprised that I had to pay for use of internet at the business centre though. Another minus point is that the TV in the room was old and small CRT screen/monitor!! These days flat-screen monitors are so common!!!!.

Very welcoming atmosphere upon check in by guest service Nana. Porters were extremely helpful. WiFi was great and mrt is just a walking distance and closeby Sentosa Island. Overall our stay was great just one minor issue is toilets are without toilet hose as most hotels in Asian countries does provide.

Even though our stay at Amara Singapore Hotel was only very brief, my wife & I greatly enjoyed our stay - particularly the quality creature comforts of our room and the impeccable service. They also very kindly accommodated our request for a double bed.
