Asphodel Inn  

Singapore is overall a more expensive city in Southeast Asia and I enjoyed that, at the rate that booking.com offers Asphodel Inn, you get more than you expect. The location is quiet and peaceful due to the 5 temples around the area. Towards the back of the building, the hawkers offer a great variety of choices for meals and are open early. The hotel itself is about a 5 minute walk from the Ferrer Park mrt and several bus stops with which you can explore Singapore for a low price, on average about s$2.10 To $2.60 a trip (which includes a $1 deposit that gets returned to you at the end of the one-way mrt trip). Overall, the price, location, cleanliness, and standards of Asphodel Inn are what would make me book with the hotel again in a future trip to Singapore.

The hotel has a late check-in time (2:00pm) and initially had told myself and my aunt to return (after arriving at 7:00am from our flight) for the room to be ready. I understand that the gap was large, but they were able to accomodate us by about 10:00am after we grabbed breakfast and explored the local restaurants and shops. For room clean-up, you have to leave your key and initially when we had done this, we asked for new towels and this was not done, but when we mentioned it at the desk, they offered us new towels right away. Overall a great experience at this hotel.

The room was clean, alltought small and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean also. The bathroom was okay and clean but a bit shabby. The hotel host was really friendly and the hotel was in a good location, especially if you like indian food :)

Tv channels not clear transmission Air-Con leaking.

1. When I booked the room online, I had given specific choices for the room nos based on my previoue experience. Those choices were not looked at by the hotel staff..They tried to offer the room with min rent for the day..which was not the criteria I was looking at. 2. The communication skills of the receptionist. Very junior person. She could not understand and respond propoerly.

Location

When we checked in we went to the 4th floor where we were struck with the smell of vomit as soon as we got out of the lift. We left our bags in our room and when we returned about 6 hours later the vomit smell was much worse. The smell of vomit had pervaded the room and my stomach was begining to churn. My guess is that the vomit smell of the morning had caused someone else to throw-up in the corridor. After complaining we were allowed to move to another room which was free from the smell of vomit.

The number smells as hell, they smoked there a lot. Everything including pillows smells. The receptionist sent us (with our very heavy backpacks) to 4th floor upstairs. On the next morning we found an elevator! But moreover: first floor is used as brothel. They let the rooms for 2-3 hours and I saw prostitutes with their client over there, when we have arrived. People, avoid this place. Pay 10-20 dollar more but avoid this place.

Better Experience than expected.

The price is reasonable and staff is very friendly.

Near to MUstafa for late nite shopping.

The air-con is not cold. Pictures are deceiving. The pictures posted n what I came to see is not up to my expectation. The tv is too high up and small. Lights were flickering.

It was hard to locate Asphodel Inn based on the map. We got lost finding it.
