Me and my two daughters (7&10) stayed here for 4 nights (total price 582 dollars+60 dollars extra breakfast) and it was a clean comfortable hotel for the right price in Singapore. The location is packed with great chinese food places and walking distance to Mustafa shopping center for cheap goods, and little india for good eats. Taxi to orchard road is 8 dollars, to Sentosa is 12 dollars, to the airport is 12 dollars, and to the zoo was 22 dollars. The hotel has mainly Indian guests who can be a bit rude for non-asian tastes (for example we stood up to get more food at breakfast and came back to have our table taken, when we showed them my daughter's doll on the table and that we were sitting there, they didnt move, so we grabbed the doll and found another table ... also the room beside us had two families in there and were a bit noisy ... (again, we are Indonesian so we were fine with it). The room wasn't very big but we were not in the room much except to sleep and I think the TV reception wasn't great but again, we didnt watch much TV. The internet started working on the second day and on the first day I tried ethernet but it didnt work. I have a macbook pro which sometimes requires a reset of the wifi modem which they didn't know how to do (and which may have occurred the next day hence my wifi being able to work.) Other than that not much to say - don't go there with super high expectations and you will be fine. NOTE: We are a pretty easy going family. There were a few things: 1. The room cleaners didn't really clean the room. Yes they made the bed and switched the soap and towels but they didn't really clean it. 2. I didn't like paying 15 dollars a day for my (extra) daughter's breakfast - especially when we left early on checkout day and breakfast wasn't open yet. I told the front desk we didnt want the breakfast and they gave me a baloney line saying "it was part of the package and you must take it" 3. They suck at wakeup calls. I asked for a wake up call and did not get it. Thank goodness we woke up on time. 4. At the end of the day I paid 160 sing per night (including taxes) which is pretty good for singapore. I have stayed at some of those serviced apartments (barely legal) for 190 a night and I appreciated this place much more.

I would like to thank to Mr.Jeya and Ms. Ayi the hotel Staff that helping me to change my room around 10 PM. It's because I can't check in early morning so I have to leave all my bags and return after work around 9 PM to check in. The first room 712 was very very very horrible!!! Smelly, humid and I got a nose block instantly cause by the smell and dust. Then the above Staff helping me out to find an empty room, clean it up by them self and my new room 815 ready by 25 minutes. I salute them for understanding the problem and work with heart full of hospitality. When we talk about a hotel in Singapore, which is relativety a giant melting pot of cultures and nationalities. I think they have to up grade their break fast menu. Since almost 95% the menu was a vegetarian food. Like any other hotel the house keeping have to be really strong supporting the cleanliness and comfort of the room. Here they seems to forget to clean up neatly, replace the instant coffee or tea bags daily. And why should yelling and banging the doors to announce the check out time is elapse? very very very funny and un-polite

It's a 10 min walk to mrt station The room and amentities were extremely basic and it made coming back to our room not very enjoyable. The quality for the room was not equal to the value of the price we paid, also the breakfast did not have a wide selection of western food which made it difficult for my partner who is not adventurous with food. There is only one elevator for the whole building so during check in and check out there can be a long wait followed by an extremely packed elevator which is inconvenient to say the least.

The buffet breakfast was not up to the expected quality. We had a difficult time getting a taxi to the airport as no taxi would stop in front of the hotel. When we informed the front desk staff, they said this was not a problem and may be some of the taxi drivers are fussy. I had to go to the next street and get a taxi to the back of the hotel to get the luggage and my family. The bell boy service was not available although they were hanging around in the lobby. The front desk could have easily helped us to get the taxi to the back of the hotel which they did not despite the request.

The hotel appeared rather tired and in need of decoration. The fire alarm went off 3 times during the night due to a fault of some sort. The people in the room next door were having a party or something and were very noisy until around 2.30am. I mentioned this to the night staff when investigating the alarm situation but nothing was done until I phoned to complain around 2am. The purpose of our stay was an overnight stop to get some sleep before continuing our journey to uk. In view of the above we had a very poor night's sleep and were rather unhappy with our experience. When I mentioned the alarm on checking out the reception just smiled and said it was a fault, sorry. Had it been a uk hotel I would have insisted on a discount but we just wanted to get away. Tax added to quoted price - unexpected.

Location-wise you can walk for about 5 minutes to get to the metro, restaurants, The Mustaffa Centre and a shopping mall. Singapore is an expensive place but seriously...this hotel is sooo over priced for the shoe box that you get. Rooms are super small with no view or character at all. The WIFI never worked and the staff kept saying they would get someone to fix it but never did. The baby cot they provided was just a wooden gate surrounding a mattress on the floor - very dangerous because our baby could fit his arm under the bottom of the barrier gate. We had to ask everyday for a 3rd towel (we had 2 adults and 1 baby staying in the room) and yet everyday they would only give us 2 towels! The fridge in the room had no facility to make ice and you can't get it from the hotel restaurant either. The breakfast is terrible and not worth staying for, bad coffee and items such as wedges and onion rings for breakfast! We often asked at reception about how to get somewhere and they would always say 'take a taxi' but this is the most expensive way around and there was always a metro/bus alternative but they knew nothing about these ways of travel.

The room key system not first time second time also before check out the room key was blocked .Even though we have to check out on the same day the Hotel management should allow us use the room key until check out. it is very embarrassed us to asked cleaning person to open the room for us at the same time till 12.00 p.m we can use the room .but any how we are making the room booking 12 hours or more than that before check in . So the hotel management gaining half day or more than half day will gain the room cost. Therefore please make arrangement to set up room key system until check out time.

To my personal opinion, the only real advantage of staying in chs is reasonable price. Many things, but first of all - no pleasant space for smoking (even outdoors). Location is no good at all (difficult to get to and park around hotel, very "strange" neighborhood etc.)
