Home to the Malay community, local street food and the infamous red-light district, Geylang is a colourful blend of culture, local cuisine and unique architecture. Most of Geylang Road is lined with shophouses untouched by modern development. Several famous eateries are scattered along this road. In east Geylang, the Malay Village brings you back to the lifestyle of Malays in the 1950’s and 1960’s with batik-painting, kite-making and village games, like top-spinning.Countless tropical fruit stalls offer adventurous souls the king of fruits, the durian, which is deeply loved for its aroma or causes disgust because of its odour.

clean, and easy access to the city shopping center. Staffs are nice and supportive. I am glad that they also can hold my lugguage. Smell smoke in the non-smoking floor. It locates near the red light house area which made us a bit afraid and not comfortable to walk around at night. In the morning, I saw small bugs come out from the drainage. I would recommend for adults only. |

Ok so anybody who turns up at this hotel and is surprised to find its located in the red light district really needs to read a bit more research on their hotel before they book as its location is well documented on this and other websites. So putting that to one side and now taking into consideration that the average nightly fee is approx 30 euro for a hotel thats 2 subway stops from central singapore I think some reviewers are unrealistic in what they expect for that price. The hotel is fine, if a little old, its kept clean and appears to be well run. There are many food stalls/shops nearby and is about 10 min walk to subway. Its not a 5 star hotel and doesnt pretend to be, its clean comfy and cheap possibly need to install double glaze windows as can get noisy from time to time |

The hotel staff were very accommodating. Their customer service was great. They went out of their way to assist us. The room was ok, however the bed was not comfortable enough and the TV had limited channels. |

Its located nearby red line area. If you want, its easy access to go there. And shower water pressure is ok,, bit powerful. I can see ants everyday in my room. And wireless internet fee was bit unresonable. 2hrs:5sgd, 10hrs:10sgd, 24hrs:18sgd. If you wanna use internet in the room, should be stay another hotel. |

This was not a stay of choice just a fligt stopover. With that in mind, the hotel was well located not too far trom the airport and Geylang is ideal for local restaurants with a good variety of cheap eating options while soaking up the street atmosphere. Given the hotel rate I don'texpect a 5 star hotel but the room could have been a bit more thoroughly cleaned...hairs around the room and discarded shampoo sachets in the bathrom. |

It was an average hotel...but it was value for money. The street was full of brothels which was a bit uncomfortable for 2 women travellers. |

i arrived earlier than my check in time, the receptionist allowed me to keep my luggage in their storage room, and let me check in just after 12pm. very clean, quieter than i expected (was on the 5th floor) and has all the extras that you appreciate ie coffee, stirrer, bottled water, closet with hangers, toothbrush/paste, towels, good shower n water pressure. the location is in the red light district, but its very safe n i wasnt bothered too much |

The staff is good, but there is no hot water for drink in the hotel, and it's a little noisy outside because of the location. Anyway, it's a good place for budget control trip. |

Value for money, in an otherwise very expensive city, for those travelling on a budget, or backpacking. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The city itself is only worth seeing if you have a large budget. It isnt too well located, but there's enough around you for your basic needs. Also, as a smoker, the total non-smoking policy was a bother to say the least. |

Very affordable price for Singapor. Yes, it is right into the red light district but the district is very safe and not "dark" at all for that kind of place. 10 mn walk to the nearest metro station ? I shoud say at least 20 minutes and some pavements are not convenient at all with a trolley suitcase if you want to go to Changi Airport via mrt. |

overall the room are very clean, and quiet. The facilities are good enough, i really love their hot water machinery. It's very convienent. Staffs are ok. The room is large enough for that budget hotel. I really love the room. Toilet are clean. We stayed there on 3 days and they only clean the room once. (And forget the brush in my room too). There's two traight of hair stick in the towels --> we didn't dare to use it. At the end of my stay, the air con work rather weak, i wonder how long it will last.. ^++^.. It's very very far from the MRT. You have to take taxi or broken your legs...I buy ez-link card but only use 1 time.. >.< |
