Hotel outlook is excellent, room size is good & comfortable and the location is very close to the MRT so this is very convenient. There were smell which from the new furnished items, but I do believe that this would be better after several weeks time. For there was no view at all even we stayed in 3rd floor. |

The hotel has very comfortables beds and despite located in a nighlife district, it is very quiet. Excellent location. Not perfectly soundproof from rooms next door. Rooms' entrance doors quite noisy when slamming. |

The location was excellent...only two city blocks from our Int'l office. The cost was reasonable considering the location and convenience. From my perspective, it would be good to have the breakfast included in the price...mine was not. |

Great value for money. Hotel with character, altough located in a bar scene district. It 's a colonial style hotel, backrooms are more quite than front rooms, although airco is old and makes some noise at night. Excellent staff however, very polite, service minded and friendly. They allowed us to have a shower before leaving to the airport at 18:00hrs!! Bar scene area, no area for kids. Though if you compare hotel value for money with nearby chinese district there is no match..... |

The staff was kind and attentive and the room clean and spacious. The hotel is in a nice area in close proximity to an eating mall with many different stands and small restaurants and bars and the Red Dot museum (a design museum). It is also close to the subway which makes it easy to get around from there. If you stay there for the weekend make sure your room does not face the Duxton road, since there are a number of bars playing loud music. |

I think the hotel and the rooms are beautiful with a special style half chinese and colonial. Definitively not a place to go with family (kids), the area is full of night clubs, bars and pubs. It is also a bit noisy by night due to the same reason. |

We thought that this hotel was wonderfull, clean and excellent help from the guys on the desk. Hotel personnel were very friendly. The hotel was very nicely located from the city centre and museums and other places of interest. On our final day of departure were were delighted to have the offer of a room to shower and freshen up in, this is a first and how generous and thoughtful of the hotel. some guest let their doors bang in the early morning, perhaps tell quest to close doors quietly |

We arrived early and checked out late. In both instances the staff were very good, allowing us to use the room at no extra charge. Before we left we were given a complimentary room in which to shower and freshen up before we left for the airport. The hotel is very close to Singapore city and the underground rail system. Excellent value for money. The smell of cigarette smoke filtering through the air conditioning system was not good but that's our only gripe. |

Value for money that I paid as I believe I got a good deal. A television in the room would have been better |

the hotel and the location has a very nice, calm colonial atmosphare. Good location. Last day we had a late flight, but we could leave our luggages at the reception, and they provided us a room in the evening for a half an hour to chage clothes and have a shover. Subway is a bit far. |

The situation of the hotel close to Chinatown and the old Chinese street is excellent, easy to reach all central points of Singapore. The hotel is charming. |

Received free upgrade to Deluxe room during first stay. Request for another room during our second stay has been promptly managed by staff The location of the hotel is not great...many pubs and nightclubs along the street. We requested another room as our intital room faced the street and we could not sleep due to the noise of the pubs and nightclubs. Not recommended when you travel with children |

The assistance provided by staff, particularly with baggage was first class. We came out of our room on the morning we had to catch our plane and found a porter waiting to help us. As our bags were heavy and there were quite a few stairs this was really helpful. We were also helped getting to the room when we arrived and were provided with an early check-in. |

The location is not bad at all. The reception personeel is very helpfull. The rooms are required renovation. Everithing inside of the room was too, too old. This hotel can not be 4 star. It has to be 3 max. It is too expensive for such old, none stylish rooms. The sign "Please Do Not Disturb" has been ingnored by the cleaning staff. They called me in the room to ask : "At what time they can clean my room? " while I was sleeping. |

Nice hotel with antique interior/furnishing, very friendly staff, they even offered us a room to shower since our plane left in the evening. Overall, a very pleasurable experience. I guess there is not too much the hotel can do about the neighborhood (bar/red-light district) |
