Fragrance Hotel-Emerald  

It was quite cheap for Singapore , there are many good inexpensive local eating places in the area. Close to buses, but a 10 minute walk from tube station. A taxi into downtown Singapore is about $10 which is a reasonable cost.It is in the red light area.

Internet charges are expensive , was told when i bought 2 hours ( $5.00 ) that i had to use it within 24 hours ,not true it expired at midnight that day and they would not refund or extend even although i had not used it. Some of the staff are a bit surly. Windows in the rooms are screwed shut .There are no fridges in rooms (even the De luxe rooms ) The rooms are very small. You get two sachets of coffee a day (for two people ) and two 250 ml of water thats your lot . I got 2 early morning 4.30am calls that i didn't organise but the one i needed on the morning i flew out never happened

hotel staff was a bit rude. rooms which are confirmed were still have to wait until 3pm check-in time which guest still have to wait for few hours after arriving noon time.

The bathroom was dirty, room with strong smell of tobaco.

I enjoyed the receptionist and the cleaning lady: very friendly.

The rooms were much too small and absolutely not as we expected (from pictures).

Value for money

No hot water at the shower every morning, housekeeping left the door open when we're out used coffee mugs were not cleaned or replaced with a clean one tissue paper, coffee not provided on our last day of stay

Location is ok, Not too far from kallang mrt. The price is quite ok. Receptions are nice and willing to give you any informations you want to know.

The problem for me is I booked deluxe room but I got the room for disabled person. :(

The hotel provide my basic needs eg:water kettle,towel,tv for entertainment,air- cond. Staying inside is quite comfortable.

The sound isolation is not that good especially at night.Can hear the noise outside the room in the silent night so clearly and it provide free parking.

Good hotel with low price and strategic location, many resto, cafe, shop, other hotels and busy nightlife. Ciaoooo.

Small room and minimal facilities.

rude receptionist.they didn't know anything about muslim prayer time.they should have know different varieties of people who travel to singapore.muslim n non muslim.

Near bus stops and the public transportation is convenient.

The tv screen is too high.

No fridge in room.

I had booked a family room for three people. However when i arrived i was told that this was not available and that they would 'upgrade' us by giving us two twin rooms for the same price. They did not inform us earlier about the unavailability of the room. As I wanted my family to be in one room, I told them I would have no choice but to take the twin room and try to fit all of us in. However the staff told us that we had to pay for two twin rooms even though we only wanted to use one room. They said it the hotel's policy and if we did not pay for this, the hotel staff would have to bear the cost. I find this totally unacceptable and was very upset that my holiday plans were spoiled.
