Peninsula Excelsior Hotel  

Quiet, spacious room (Excelsior Tower, 18th floor) with a pleasant view and easy access via the elevator.

Room too cold and the air-con completely unresponsive to the thermostat. Pillow very hard. No decaffeinated coffee available in the room. Breakfast chaotic and completely overrun with oriental tourists all wearing shirts and baseball caps of a certain budget airline - there was nowhere to sit and the staff were simply unable to replace food items at the rate required, so I took one look on my first morning and then walked away. The second morning was similar, so I made my own arrangements thereafter. Exhorbitant charge for internet access, which should be free nowadays - it is as necessary for the business traveller as hot water, and one isn't billed separately for that!

The hotel was lovely. The room was fantastic. It was clean and neat. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful.

The reception staff were not overly friendly but they were efficient. The breakfast was very average and the tables weren't very clean and again they staff were not very friendly.

The charges for Internet access are ridiculous, the highest I have ever seen.

The location was great. Mall, mrt station all within 5 mins walking distance. Only about 15mins walking from clarke quay and esplanade. Some of the reviews at trip advisor said that the room's quite disappointing. Mine wasn't the case. The room is neat and clean, it is also equipped with lan cable for internet connection (made me regret why I didn't bring my laptop). Also, my room had a very nice view of Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it was worth the price.

The price paid for the rooms could have been worth it had Breakfast been included as complimentary in the room tarriff

impolite front desk woman. Not clean up the room and common area Inconvenient elevator ; there are two elevators and take different area of floor.

Hotel staff were friendly and courteous. Location was fantastic.

The tv channel are limited plus the volume of tv limited till 25 . American breakfast are limited...I want to extend my stay bt we being charged differently...saying dat it a hotel rate...not e rates being given by agent...wat a service..i was told my the guest service officer saying dat it is a club room...errggghhh so wat...as if i can afford to pay...with this kind of service would like not to extended my stay

We really liked the staff they were very helpful and polite. Facilities were good for family stay with young children as there were 2 swimming pools for them. The location was good and closed to MRT City hall made it very convenient for us.

Clean, location near mrt, and Clarke Quay, around 10 minutes walk

* We arrived quite early around 8.30 in the morning , from Dubai, and were very tired, due to that we did not slept at all in the plane, and 8.30 in singapore is our 4.30 in Dubai. And we have a 4 years old daughter. We have put a note to be able to do early check in, but they were not able to accomodate us, which is fine and I can understand it. * then the staff told us to come back at 12 o'clock, so we went around and came back at 12 o'clock, then the staff told us again that the room is not available. * after i insisted that i am tired, and it does not make sense that the room is not available, because at 8.30 , i saw a lot of people checked out already, then they finally let me checked in, but then the room that they let me checked in were very small, the bed were 1,6 meter bed. Due to that i was very tired at that time, i just checked in and want to get a rest, i finally end up slept in the couch, as the bed could only accomodate my wife and my daughter. * i requested to change the room the day after to twin room, which is better a little bit.
