Overall friendly staff Aside from the lack of elevators, which can be a huge problem for guests with medical conditions or disabilities assigned rooms on the top floor; I’d say the biggest problem with this hotel is rats. I stayed with my wife and four little kids at loft b; an open attic-style space, billed online as a “family room”. With low-sloping ceilings, I bumped my head quite a number of times, while trying to stand up straight, or to find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Right from the outset, we noticed that more than half the closets are filled with very old and dusty dossiers, folders and files dating back to as early as the 1980s. We suspected they might house few insects, and did see an occasional cockroach here or there. But, the drama reached an all time high just as we were getting ready to go to bed for our last night at Perak. We saw a little mouse cruising freely between the cabinets and the kitchen. All attempts by the night shift manager to catch it failed, and so did the two sticky mouse traps he left behind. Despite staff apologies, and the 10% discount off our checkout bill on the next morning, we didn’t feel adequately compensated for the lack of sleep, and wrecked nerves just as we were getting ready for our flight. Hotel management can do future guests service by honestly advertising room conditions & capacities, and by doing a better job fighting rodent and insects infestations.

Staff were friendly, really knowledgeable and the rooms were ultra clean! Just perfect! It is very close to a mosque so be prepared for the call to prayer early- ish in the morning.

The Perak hotel had some lovely features ( may I note not in the room I stayed in), for example the resored wooden landing areas, and it is pretty centrally located. The staff are mostly very nice and helpful. I really wanted to stay at the Perak hotel after reading the reviews which were very positive. The room cost although not cheap seemed to be reasonable for Singapore norms. I was very disappointed with my room and felt that it was over priced. The room although clean was very small the bathroom was very small and run down looking. I had booked intially a standard room but when I got to the hotel the duty manager informed me that we had been upgraded to a superior room but when I saw this room it was very small so I can only imaginf what the standard room looks like. However I got the feeling that this room was not a superior room and that the manager was having us on. Breakfast was okay but definitely not of the same standard of the other hotel breakfasts we had on this the trip., But certainly the most expensive. I would not stay at the Perak hotel again, not because it is not of an acceptable standard, because it is but becaiuse it is overpriced.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. Upon realization that we were there on our honeymoon they upgraded us to a Superior Double room. The rooms were decent sized with nice linens. Everything was clean. The breakfast was tasty with a decent selection of items. The hotel was in walking distance to the Little India mrt station. It isn't so much a complaint as a warning that the hotel is located near a mosque so if you aren't used to the early morning call to prayer it make awaken you (but it sounded beautiful and added to the whole experience).

Iis the only hotel with character in Little India I have discovered on several trips to Singapore. I specially requested a double room for a romantic visit but was given a room with two single beds. When I asked for a double I was told the hotel was full. I do not believe this to be the case. Also the price $170 sd incl tax is expensive as this is for a standard room. I was upgraded as a standard room does not have a window. I found this price to be too high.

The staff was very very friendly and is saving the hotel! The location was great as well, to the airport was only 30min with the subway/metro. 2 metro stations (different lines) nearby. The breakfast was minimal and the room was really small for what you pay.

The hotel is well located and the staff are friendly and polite. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider the hotel again if returning to Singapore. Breakfast is simple but serviceable and the area is great for quick food and good atmosphere. The rooms are small, which means not much space for three adults and their luggage. However we used the space well and the hotel was very accommodating when we neede to store luggage.

I enjoyed the Little India District There were thousands of small bugs in the tiny, cramped room. I thought it was very expensive for what you got. The beds were small and hard, the pillows were like large stone boulders. The toilet leaked so the bathroom floor was always soaked. The room was very noisy at night.

The staff in particular the desk clerk Alvin, who was incredibly attentive and friendly. Noise outside due to location. Dirty towels and bed sheets. No proper wifi in the hotel room and the Internet often didn't work.

The staff was quite helpful and ready to respond to all our request and freely provide information. The hotel has some short of colonial charm. It is a very simple hotel for the price but then again acommodation in Singapore is generally expensive. Breakfast is pretty basic.

Convenient location, easy walking distance to two mrt stations. Historic Little India location has a lot of character. Friendly staff, simple basic breakfast included. Free wifi in public areas and some rooms.Room was small with good wardrobe but lacked shelves/drawers. Reasonably quiet air conditioning. Rooms are a bit small and basic but the price reflects this. No lift so if you happen to be on the upper floor this could be a problem. Very limited choice of tv channels. Some rooms have obscured and fixed windows.

Clean tidy accommodation in a central location We stayed in a ground floor room with a window largely covered over. This made the room dark and we had to have the light on most of the time, Upper floor rooms have windows out on to the street.

Not much. Breakast okay. Deposit paid was not taken off the bill at the end of stay. Had to pay again in full and the deposit refunded separately hence with fees and exchange rates left aud15 out of pocket. Hotel didnt want to know about it. Expensive for what it is.

Cosy hotel, well located. The absence of a window was well disguised, but at the end, we didn't miss it, and the room had a skylight.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend staying at the Perak, and I would certainly stay there again. The simplicity of the hotel was quite relaxing. Its not 5 star, but more home stay style living. Rooms were cleaned every day and a light breakfast was offered (things like boiled eggs, noodles, toast, fruit and cereal were on offer)

What fascinates me with Perak Hotel is its character. The interior design is tastefully executed. The atmosphere is welcoming. It being a small hotel gives you a homey feeling unlike bigger hotels, its like being home away from home.

The hotel is in little india which is easy to go to the centre with the subway. The breakfast was just ok, nothing especial. One of the employees was very nice. We had a problem in our bathroom with the toilet which the employer said it was fixed but in the end it wasn'T. It was not so good. The price quality from the hotel is not so good, but Singapore is expensive so you can't get better prices.
