Home to the Malay community, local street food and the infamous red-light district, Geylang is a colourful blend of culture, local cuisine and unique architecture. Most of Geylang Road is lined with shophouses untouched by modern development. Several famous eateries are scattered along this road. In east Geylang, the Malay Village brings you back to the lifestyle of Malays in the 1950’s and 1960’s with batik-painting, kite-making and village games, like top-spinning.Countless tropical fruit stalls offer adventurous souls the king of fruits, the durian, which is deeply loved for its aroma or causes disgust because of its odour.

Not a good location for city but taxis/transport good so saves a lot money for other activitiesso it's a good choice. You forgot to include Medical and Gambling classes above. Small rooms so large people will feel cramped |

The area is well know for great food - not restaurants but street places. Fairly close to MRT station - about 5 mins walk. The bed was had many human hairs in it when i moved in. the mattress was wipe down, a product of the hotel being situated in Geylang, the red light district of Singapore. Wireless internet costs 5SGD for 2 hours - about £2.50 which seemed expensive to me. |

Excellent stop-over hotel. AC, good bed, bathroom. Five foot-minutes to the metro (Aljunied), 20 minutes from Changi, dozens of chinese eateries, varouus internet cafes, pleasant informal atmophere, to be recommended. I found the cleanlines of the room not up to standards After a mild complain this was swiftly corrected. |

The most I like is the location and the fair price of the hotel. Although it was in the red light district, it did not bother us. |

Helpful staff, cheep, relatively close to airport, a lot of good places to eat near the hotel. We were not satisfied with the cleaniness of the room (hair on the floor) and the fact that the bathroom doors were broken (impossible to close). The room was really small, but for the price it's ok. |

The room wasn't well cleaned. There's hair everywhere, moss in the bathroom, the walls are filthy, old and rugged blanket. |

The location. Must be bad business seeing as those "working ladies" were soliciting as early as 9am!! Despite being in Singapore's red light district, you don't feel threatened much and I can honestly say that I was a bit disappointed when I didn't hear any ladies at work. Lol After attending a wedding dinner we got back close to 12 am, only to find that the aircon wouldn't work. Called the staff who, poor fella, had to travel at least 4 times to flip the switch at the main switch box. My hubby was fuming mad that we had to change rooms at such a late hour due to those electricity trips. |

Yes, when I arrived, they asked me to pay more than price quoted on Bookings.com. Luckily I had receipt. They said price had increased by about $45. They only didn't charge me due to having a receipt and said it was now up to management? which I think is not right. |

The rate is worthy as other hotels in Singapore are much more expensive. Good for cheap backpackers! The atmosphere is boring & a bit boxy. |

Transportation is convenient and the smoking smell in the hotel is controlled at a minimum level. It would be better to have smaller room at lower rate for solo traveller. The window cannot be open so that fresh air may not be breathed in. |
