I was wow once i step inside hotel to reception area. This hotel has excellent interior. I sleep well throughout the night as there was no noise could be heard from outside where other hotel is noise.
I stayed 1 night in a single room without window. The room is small but well-equipped and clean with comfortable bed. Very good location, just 1 mins from MRT station.
The room is not well ventilated. There was a musty smell in the room, which is not very pleasant. For only 1 night, it's ok. But if you want to stay longer, maybe consider to take a room with window.
Everything worked. Plumbing, hot water, A/C, wifi. What more do you need? To work, my laptop required you check/accept "recognize printers..." or something like that when you input the password.
Room was small, but ok.
Location, friendly and helpful staff, great A/C.
Bathroom had toilet and shower sharing the same space.
Located in the heart of Chinatown, nearby MRT station. Room is small, but well arranged. All in all a good place to stay for a reasonable price.
location is fantastic, loads of food nearby, markets and shops.
The plastic / rubber squawking chickens for sale in Chinatown markets being squeezed and sqwaking by idiot tourists while I was trying to sleep off a hangover.
Good locution small room very small room
Authentic Chinese Theatre character of hotel; retained features of historical building.Quirky.Step right out into Chinatown, enjoy fresh cooked yum cha up the road....
No table or chairs outside on huge balcony with fabulous closeness to Food Street.Wanted to sit, drink a Tiger Beer and watch the world go by!
What I like about the place is very clean and comfortable. The place is very near to food trips in china town only outside of this hotel. They still accept if the guest will leave their luggage if they are already checking out.
What i didn't like about this place is that their service man is not helping in terms of carrying our luggage in our assigned room and also if the guest our checking out in the hotel.
we loved the concept of the converted opera house and being in the centre of Chinatown. The room with the balcony was decent albeit plain when it should have pictures hung.
The single room was like a cell no windows tucked in the corner you couldn't tell if day or night, and noisy. The bathrooms were not properly designed or later out as the shower water would go and wet everywhere. no house rules book found!
Poor facilities and congested small rooms
The interior design was very unique. Wi-fi speed was fast.
The mattress was VERY hard. When i came, no one was there to greet me at the enterance. No one helped me with my suitcases. The young guy at the reception was NOT friendly at all. I stayed at the family room with my dad and my sister, I was asking for more pillows to make our sleep more comfortable, they could only give us 1 extra pillow. Found a bug on the bed. Luckily it was only one bug. Only good for the location. But not worth the 200SGD i have paid. Should have chosen other hotels.
The location is right in the middle of Chinatown, just 2 min from the nearest metro station. The hotel is is fitted out in authentic style which gives it a great look.
The room was 6 m2 in size!!!! This should not even be allowed. The actual price that I had to pay for the room was nearly 20% higher than what was shown on Booking.com due to the extra charges and taxes. This should not be allowed by Booking.com. Furthermore, for the price that paid (100 SD per day) a 4-star hotel could be booked anywhere else in Asia. This probably due to the high living standard in Singapore.
the location is definitely a plus point, and the cleanliness and free coffee and tea. The staffs were friendly, my parents were welcome & treated nicely there.
very small size, but I think its most similar hotels in Singapore.
There was way too much noise outside. No double glazing. Also bed was very hard and uncomfortable
Its location is very good. Located at the heart of China Town which China Town Food Street, Souvenir Shop are around you.
The level for wet area and dry area in the restroom are the same. When I take a bath, I have to swept the water while I showering 'cause I am afraid of the water will go around.
clean , close to mrt , nice staffs.
Location location location, in the heart of Chinatown The room is extremely small but cozy and clean Clean bathroom Interesting interior design of the hotel, its located in a former Chinese opera house Worth the money and great for 2-5 days stay, would come again.
Durian shop is right beneath the hotel, so some of the rooms may have this famous smell if you like sleeping with open windows. Staff speaks poor English with very heavy Chinese accent. Tiny room, but we only used it to sleep so not a big deal Some of the rooms don't have windows
Location which is easy to travel by MRT
The food street which is located next to the hotel make very loud noise. If you need to have a sweet dream, request a room without window.
clean and convinience
room too small and the toilet bowl is made as such that you have to sit sideway too near the wall beside the pigeon outside or where made very scarely noise
The decoration of the hotel was very interesting.
It was noisy during the night. So even though location is good, I can't rate as good. The room was too small,I felt.
There are 2 doors which connecting 2 main roads. One is connecting to Temple Street, and the other is conecting to Smith Street. You can easily reach Chinatown Food Street and Chinatown Complex through Smith Street, and reach People's Park Centre through Temple Street. Buddha Tooth Relic Museum also in walking distance.
The room is quite small, especially if you have a lot of luggages. I cannot connect to internet via hotel's wi-fi for the first day, but successfully connected for the second day.
The location was great.
Having to traverse step stairs at entrance to hotel with a big suitcase together to reception. The mattress was a bit hard too.
The porter brought up our suitcases. Staff was very nice. The location of the hotel is really perfect in the heart of chinatown.
The room was tiny. The bed hit the wall on three sides. There was hardly any place to leave our two suitcases.
