Staff were super friendly, helpful and competent! Lobby smelled like fresh soap. Room was clean, air conditioning system was perfect, bathroom was huge. Location (red light district) was totally fine. Was safe, had a 24 hour convenient store across, a 7-11 around the corner and lots of restaurants surrounding the area. Value at its best. The sheet had a little stain, but they change upon request and give you fresh towels everyday.

A friendly and accomodating Staff. It's in Geylang district but location is far from red district so the place is quiet. Accessible by bus, a bus stop is located just a few minutes walk. The room is quite small but it is clean. The family room is quite small ( space ).

Excellent value for money in Singapore. I spent several nights in 2, 3 or 4 stars hotels in the city and I must say that the price I paid (65 SGD per night) in Fragrance Hotel Sapphire brought more value than the others as you easily spend twice or even three times more per night in SG hotels. This hotel offers very good value for money. However, I would recommend to stay only few nights as the amenities within the hotel are not as good.

Price, location, cleanliness and service were all good. Of course, it's in a red-light district but I wasn't hassled in any way. The downstairs internet connection was quite ok (and fast enough to make Skype phone calls), and cost 1 sg dollar for 15 minutes. The hotel has no food but a two minute walk brings you to many sidewalk cafes/restaurants serving Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai and Korean dishes. There is a small 24-hour mini-market one minute away (and several others on the main road). Small Tiger beers in the eateries cost sg 4, large ones sg 5.60. Many of the eateries stay open until very early in the morning, great for "people- watching". Be prepared to turn away Indian guys trying to sell socks and wallets (unless you want them). The wi-fi connection costs sg 18 for 24 hours, but that's for one log- on. (You have to stay logged on the whole time, or pay again, which sounds rather stupid to me. Probably better to just use the computers in the lobby when you need to.) The TV channels could be better - bad reception on some of them. Then again, there's not really all that much worth watching on Singapore TV.

The price was good for a 2 night stay... not too sure on the location, but there was a bus stop nearby to take you to the Quay etc. The staff members at reception were friendly and helpful. Wifi needs to be purchased, and you have to use it all in one go... ie if you buy 2 hours, you have to use all 2 hours at once, as even if you log off your PC, the time still counts down. I understand this is quite common in Singapore. We had a DVD player in our room, but the hotel doesn't have DVDs available which I found odd.

Well honestly, Fragrance Sapphire is also good to stay just for a short time like what we did we stay for 4 days. Cleanliness is fine, location but 1 staff in the reception perhaps needs an orientation seminar to be an approachable person, etc. specially for the family customer for a holidays / tours. It would be very helpfull to the hotel reputation. That doesn't mean we will not come back soon, we still choose Fragrance speially because of Filipinos working in the hotel. Regards

Room was clean but very basic. The location was not great. Unlike comments I have read it was right in the middle of the red light district. Although we did not feel unsafe it had a bit of an eeery feel at night and during the day was like a ghost town. Having said that was very cheap to get a taxi to the more busier areas, but ended up staying out all day to avoid going back to the area.

They provide assistance on tickets going to theme parks and even bus tickets going to Malaysia. So it saved us time to look for one on-line or going around. The hotel staffs also provided assistance on going around Singapore whether taking bus or mrt is more convenient. No hot and cold for the shower and faucet.

Ok location, but close to red light district. About 15 min. walk to MRT (with toddlers). Kinda chinese/moslem neighbourhood, many waiters didn't speak english. Easy taxi or bus connection. Hotel very quiet indeed. Cheap prices. Dirty. Haven't been cleaned under the bed for months (litter, sig.butts, dirt). Bad tv channels. No Singapore info for a first timers like us. Wireless extremely expensive.

The staff of the hotel was very accommodating. They graciously gave us directions going to the city center as well as pointers on using public transportation in Singapore. As planned and as communicated before-hand (through the booking on the internet), we left our baggage at the hotel's concierge as we arrived before check-in time. We went off to do some city tour and went back 2PM to check-in. Fresh towels, complimentary drinking water and coffee were provided everyday. Although the room was not big, the area was enough for me, my wife and 2 kids to rest and have quality bonding time. Although located outside the city center, it is very accessible to any transport mode going to the city (mrt, bus, etc.). Kallang and Aljunied stations are just 5 minutes leisurely walk from the hotel. There's also 7-Eleven store nearby. The vicinity is peaceful in our three nights stay.

Value for money, very clean and welcoming, room looked new, big flat screen tv. a lot of local restaurants nearby where you can have a decent meal for 5 sgd 24/7, bus stop 2 mins walk. Hotel is on the same mrt line with airport. Luggage storage is free. Would definitely recommend for a hassle-free budget city break Bit far from mrt station, 10-15 mins walk. WiFi cost 18 sgd per 24 hours which is a rip off. Top layer of mattress was plastic, so bed linen does not stay in place and you can find yourself sleeping on plastic mattress in the middle of the night. You will also be charged for early check-in and late checkout. However for this price it is ok.

Very Nice hotel very modern and really clean rooms. Just 5 minute walk to monorail/ metro and 2 minutes walk to self service laundrette. Lots of shops and quick street style restaurants around the hotels proximity. Good location. No free internet service, very expensive wifi rates and no printer/ printing service available. Wifi should be offered free to guests.

Although the hotel is supposedly In the red light district I didn't see any hanging around the streets as I imagined. The rooms are quite small but if your after a bed to sleep and for the price you can't go wrong. Rooms are clean and staff are more than willing to help you. It took us 15 mins by bus to get to central. Can not open the windows so if there is a group of you in the room you will have to have the a/c on and there is no restaurant.
