“Although the hotel is located right smack in the center of red-lights area with ladies standing around for their business ventures, the hotel itself clean and felt safe enough. Also, the location is good for eating and drinking till really late. It was a fair value for the money.”

Staff were super friendly, helpful and competent! Lobby smelled like fresh soap. Room was clean, air conditioning system was perfect, bathroom was huge. Location (red light district) was totally fine. Was safe, had a 24 hour convenient store across, a 7-11 around the corner and lots of restaurants surrounding the area. Value at its best. The sheet had a little stain, but they change upon request and give you fresh towels everyday.

We like to people watch in the Geyland District, there is so much going on. We just enjoy the area. It is also reasonably close to the airport. There are a couple different mrt stations walking distance away. This place is much, much nicer than the Hotel 81 we used to stay at here. We'll be back. Mrt is walking distance away, but if you are carrying bags to the airport, it is a little far. Fine if you out for a day hanging around town, but with a load of luggage there are closer options. However, this hotel is much much nicer than the Hotel 81 we stayed at before so we will lug our bags to the mrt or even taxi to the airport.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It's price of 50 euros per room per night was something that made me scared coming but booking it turned out to be a very good decision. Hotel is very clean, rooms are small but just about big enough to put your suitcase and have space to move around. The issue that many here complain about - shower having no curtain - is a bit anoying and it's hard to understand why they didn't bother putting it but it's definitely not a big problem. Some people had issues with dirty sheets, we didn'T. Matress was ok and I don't understand how can someone expect luxury matresses in a budget hotel. All in all, it was a good stay and I would recommend staying here if you want to save money, which is important when visiting a city as expensive as Singapore. Personally, I had a problem with the fact that windows can not be opened. Climate system is working fine so heat was not a problem at all but I would have liked to have the option. And most importantly, I didn't find the staff to be very polite. They were decent but had the "sorry can't help you" additude.

It was very good value for an hotel in Singapore. The district itself is a little less salubrious than many others if approached from the wrong direction but if economy is your main aim (we only intended to sleep in the hotel) then it is ideal. All in all great value for money.

We stayed in Fragrance Hotel - Sapphire for seven nights (check-in 18 March 2011) and paid 606 s$ (vat 7% included). I would say hotel represents value for money compared to other similar properties and if you want something simple and nothing fanciful, this hotel will meet your needs. This “two star” rated hotel offers very basic accommodation. Superior twin air-conditioned room is equipped with queen size bed (small for two persons and two-years old baby), narrow one-door wardrobe, flat-panel televisions with satellite channel and dvd/cd player. All accommodations provide phones, hair dryer and coffee/tea makers. Complimentary 2 bottle waters, satchels of coffee, and toiletries are provided daily. Staff were very friendly and always ready to help out. House-keeping is very good, room is very clean and fairly quiet. Snow-white towels and bed-clothes are changed daily (!). There is no breakfast, but options nearby are numerous eateries with real value for the money. Toilet room is small, and the shower, sink & toilet are all packed in small area, and the floor gets wet and slippery when you have a shower. Shower is equipped with dispenser for liquid soap, so do not expect to find bar soap or shampoo in complimentary toiletries. In-room safe and refrigerators are not provided. Actually it is first time from my travel experience when I was told that there are no refrigerators in hotel (!) to keep my baby’s drug. For those who are traveling with small babies, the Fragrance Hotel - Sapphire in Geylang is very inconveniently located. Actually Lorong 10 Geylang is almost in the middle way between Kallang and Aljuned mrt stations, slightly closer to Kallang (15-20 min walk), than to Aljuned (20-25 min walk). There is bus stop nearby (Geylang Road) - 5 min walk. Overall Singapore is the most stroller- friendly country in South-East Asia, so traveling with baby in stroller is not difficult (especially if to compare with neighboring Malaysia) but not in Geylang, … in evening time in crowded Geylang, when eateries occupy sidewalks with tables, possibility to stroll between tables becomes the horror of all horrors. Regarding prostitution in this red- light district… this appears to be least irritating thing, even if you are traveling with small baby. Although I think most of them are probably harmless, it is not the best place for families with babies.

Simple but clean hotel with small but comfortable room. Location a bit far from the nearest subway station, but enough buses around to bring you wherever you want. The area is very lively with lots of nice eateries. Expect basic but friendly service.

Hotel was quiet, with comfortable rooms, a little basic but fine for a short stay. The air-con was good and the shower was excellent. The staff were helpfull and gave us good advice. Taxi's and busses are easy to get from the hotel area.

location in a interesting area, clean rooms and responsive staff at desk, just have earplugs handy, price is a big plus for expensive Singapore Noisy corridors reverberate with guests arriving at all hours causing disturbance to other guests already at repose. No shower curtain/divider in either standard or family bathroom. Tv channel selection is limited and reception poor. Sweaty bed coverings also uncomfortable for sleeping

The hotel is close to most attraction. It take us only one ride going to Sentosa and most attraction within the city, like Raffles, Marina Bay and the famous Merlion Park. The hotel don't offer free WIFI. You have to pay $5 for 2 hours which I find expensive. My data plan for roaming only cost $5 for 24hrs.
