Staff were switched on, attentive, and refreshingly "can do" in their approach to customer service. The balcony was a real plus and is quite spacious. The use of the Soda jacuzzi/shower facility after check-out was a very useful and much needed feature after a steamy day around the City. More space in the room - maybe with more wall mounted features - would be nice but it is not small by Sing standards. A broader shower head would be better with that strong water pressure.

The staff was superb! Probably one of the best service I've ever received in se Asia. I particularly liked the shower facilities if you have a late plane to catch I.E. 2am flight back to Australia. It's a fantastic hotel, pricey but everything's expensive in Singapore. Room a little small for what we paid, but it's expected given it's in Singapore.

Nice staff, perfect location, quiet, clean. Small room and the one we stayed in had no windows so it should have been cheaper.

Location was great - right near Chinatown. Boutique-feel with very nice rooms. Friendly staff. Great roof-top bar/restaurant. Breakfast OK but could be better. No way to get the room dark at night because of outside lights.

The hotel grossly misrepresents its rooms. "Deluxe" rooms with "King Size" bed, are in fact rooms the size of "tiny cages" with a small double bed (closer to twin size), with barely enough space to move inside. It is probably the "worst value for money" that I have seen in my life. I advise prospective travelers to avoid this hotel.

The hotel had character and was in a great location - near Maxwell (hawker), Chinatown and the European restaurants of Ann Siang Hill. Chicken rice and chili crabs are only a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

This is the kind of boutique hotel that makes you want to smile - from beginning to end. I have nothing but good words. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the gorgeous renovation in Chinatown, to a wonderfully comfortable room. It was quirky and tasteful and enjoyable. Distances inSingapore are never a problem as taxis are cheap and no subway is that far away. The proximity toChinatown was pleasant as it made for cheap and delicious food but not the congestion one would expect from that location. It is around the corner from several excellent eating places and cannot be beaten when it comes to value for money. They actually saved us money - that's a first for an upscale hotel....

It is our fourth stay at The Scarlet Hotel. We liked Kelvin and Kenneth for their exemplary service always with a smile and concern when I became very ill with food poisoning Thank you for your kindness We like that the hotel is only 2minute walk to Maxwell Food centre. And short walkn to China town shops and many resturants What I think would be nice is to encourage the female front dest staff to be more welcoming and please smile, follow the example of the young men

We were quite impressed by the foyer and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff when we first arrived at the hotel. The room we were given was small though clean and comfortable. The onsuite was of a good size, nice and clean. Free internet was fast and easy to login to. The location is good as it is a short walk to Chinatown markets, small bars and european styled restaurants, found some nice Korean restaurants within walking distance as well, Maxwell Hawker market is right across the road as well (though it was closed for revovation). So I found the mix of food choices within walking distance of the hotel to be great. Not too much to say here, but if I wanted to be picky I would say that the person who vacumed the room could have done a better job and that it is a bit of a stroll to the MRT stations.
