The Television and the remote control. No window in my room.
The location and the variety of food in the area
The bathroom flooring. The water should be drained at the bath area, not run though the entire bath room floor.
Hotel is clean. Location is good for us. Wifi is free.
When we extended another 2 nights we were only told of the type of room and the price. Knowing there were 3 of us, they gave us a smaller room without a sofa bed and without a mini fridge. All they needed to do was to clearly informed us.
difficult to find a cab
Not soundproof, can hear ppl talking outside the room in the middle of the night
Location,cost,friendliness of staff.
Room 1117 was rather too small for two persons wth a reasonable amount of luggage.
clean and room are in good conditions.
I would understand staying in a budget hotel but guest that were staying next door make so much of noise whole night up till the next day. Hotel security or any of the staff should go around to check on guest comfort and could have take actions to advice guests that were miss behaving.
Love the rooftop swimming pool, many restos around, excellent wifi
This hotel doesnt hv a refrigerator which can be pretty annoying if u willing to hv a cold drink on your own
Strong smell of smoke when I arrived, had to change rooms. Tiny rooms. No desk (awful for business trips). No breakfast. Many rooms don't have a window!! Only slightly cheaper than the better option down the road (Days Inn)
The location is pretty good, and the bed was comfortable enough.
The wifi did not work. I asked customer service to help with the problem. They asked me to change which browser I use on my computer (as though Mozilla Firefox is not a common browser) and acted as though the problem was in my computer, not their system. It turned out that the internet worked just fine on my computer once I took it to the lobby and plugged it into the cable there, so no, it wasn't my computer that was the problem. The worst part of my stay was that I was lied to, and subsequently treated with extreme rudeness. The night I was there, I was promised a discount on my room if I stayed, due to the problem with the wifi; or, I could receive a full refund if I checked out by 9 pm and went to another hotel. This was reasonable to me, and I decided to stay and go with the discount. The next morning, when checking out, I was charged full price. When I inquired about the discount, the story changed. They said that the promise had been that they would give me a discount if I checked out by 9 pm, and if I decided to stay the night, I would have to pay full price. This was never the agreement, but now I have a lesson learned that I guess I have to have hotels write things like this down, or it is my word against theirs. They also claim that wifi is a 'free service', as though I don't know how business works with overhead costs, etc. Of course the cost is passed on to the customer; somebody has to pay the wifi bill. I did not receive the promised services and was still forced to pay the full price for a night's stay. The desk clerks were very rude and unsympathetic, and it is quite unreasonable that they would not even offer a small discount. I will never stay there again, and would strongly advise others to avoid staying at Value Hotel Thomson, as well.
The room was very clean, it smells really good (because some hotels I've been smelled chlorine) It has a nice TV and clean bathroom (even without a shower enclosure) It's somehow a bit far from the MRT but good thing there's a shuttle service to Novena MRT Station.
Staff should be more friendly and welcoming to the guests.
The shower and the toilet has no separation. When you take a shower, everything gets wet, the toilet seat, cover, towels, the whole floor. Not even a shower curtain separates the toilet and shower stall. So you need to mop up the place with your towel so you would not slip. The wi-fi is unreliable, it may be free but it is most annoying.
The place very convenient
The location of the hotel is just perfect.. red seafood is just right at the corner they serve delish singaporean foods and if your on budget there is a hawker center just across the hotel. Novena mrt is just 8 to 10mins walk.
What i hate the most is the toilet.. they should have at least put a division between the toilet bowl and shower. Oh well i dont know about other rooms. The rooms are pretty small but of course its a budget hotel. You get what you paid for.
Service was good
Tiny, tiny internal room with the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. Everything in the bathroom gets wet during a shower.
Out of many Singaporean hotels i found this the most right with what you get for this price!
Nothing much close by in a walking distance
Location and value for money
The front office staff who checked us in and checked us out seemed all the joy in life was sucked out of her. The cleaning staff smiled more and was even more accomodating.
Wifi was excellent. Free shuttle to mrt.
Our room was standard and very small. The bathroom was the size of a toilet cubicle. We were upgraded due to coach load of kids arriving and superior room was exactly the same size but with a window. The free shuttle bus only went in the morning with no return option. Do not pay extra for breakfasts.
Poor wifi connection in the room.
I like the hospitality, the view, the pool, the shuttle to mrt, wifi,
Breakfast is not good, scramble egg r cold n plain, no choice of dessert, waters n any compliment should be refreshed every day w or wo room make up, lobby need more sofa
Its a supet budget hotel. The acess is what makes it a lil difficult. To get to orchard street will be $8 and to catch the metro is $8. Hotel is good.
Friendly staff and very affordable rooms.
Breakfast was a bit expensive for the kind of food served.
shuttle bus from hotel to mrt station
the room is very small and far from the mrt
Staff was helpful and willing to help.
The "ant" issue still exists.
