Great location in the old town - convenient for all the sites. Good buffet breakfasts served in the vaulted dining room in the cellar. The old town is traffic free so if you are arriving by car you will need to reserve one of the hotel's parking spaces in a nearby street.

Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful city. The hotel is perfectly located and extremely comfortable and our room had a delightful balcony overlooking one of the cities many churches.

The only let down was the nescafe coffee machine that they use for breakfast, not very becoming for such a lovely place!

We had a family unit. Our teenage sons shared a room with twin beds. The room where we slept had a large sofa, a small bar/refer, two bathrooms. We were on the ground level, which was a relief as there is no lift and our luggage was heavy. The unit was the perfect size for us. They also provide a nice breakfast. Just down the street from one of the best restaurants in town--Špajza.

The sofa used to be white--it was so disgustingly stained that nobody sat on it without a towel under them.

Very handy location easy walking distance to all the old city attractions, and very quiet due to being in the old city pedestrians-only zone. Old world ambience of the hotel and friendly helpful staff who insisted on carrying our bags upstairs for us. The breakfast included was of a good standard. Recommended.

Needed to watch our heads when we got out of bed, due to the attic-style ceiling - not intended as a criticism because it's the style of the hotel, but just a caution! There was otherwise nothing about the hotel not to like.

Great location next to the pedestrian street for shopping and touristing. Super friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were great, pretty kitsch furnishing (which we loved) with plenty of space.

The building is old, so necessarily you can hear people walking upstairs and up and down the stairs to an extent.

Location, location, location. This is in the heart of the old town with many daily and nightly activities. The bed was so comfortable, and the room I was in was very quiet. Nice view. Very accommodating staff, and loved the free brandy sampling upon arrival. For a small fee was able to get clothes washed.

Internet a bit slow, but with access to wifi for ipad or iphone, it wasn't really a problem.

friendly staff, breakfast in the garden, location in the city, the medieval house, well equipped bathroom, teamaker,

the room was quite dark. Rooms to the street are noisy because of the coffehouse on the opposite side of the road and the churchbells. Loading and unloading the car (only from 8-10 am)-parking about 500m away and pretty expensive (about 12€ a day)

    The location was good.

We booked a Superior Double Room with Balcony that was described as having hard wood floors and a balcony with a view. However, we were given a room in the annex without a balcony and had a dirty carpet and hardly any outlets. When I questioned the desk the next day after i checked my booking, the gentleman stated that the guest of the room that I should be in didn't leave for some reason and that I should take it up with the manager who wouldn't be in until tomorrow. I stated that if I wasn't given the room I should at least be compensated for the difference in price for the room that I had now. The next day I spoke with the management and she stated that they didn't offer a Superior Double room with Balcony any more on Booking.com and that there is no difference in rates between my room which was obviously just a superior double and the other superior doubles at the hotel. She stated that she would move me to the other room if I wanted and I stated that I would. Low and behold the room that I was moved to had hard wood floors, was in the main hotel, had many outlets and the bathroom was superior to the previous room with a double sink etc. And it had a balcony. I have checked Booking, com and they still list the Superior Double Room with Balcony as a separate room than the regular Superior Double. I feel that I was subject to a bait and switch. I wasn't compensated for the difference in money for the 2 nights that we stayed in the first room. Therefore I can't possibly recommend this hotel because I don't trust the management. Reading a few other comments from previous guests I feel this is not something uncommon to this hotel also.

Excellent location, friendly staff and very good airconditioning.

Uncomfortable bed and underwhelming cleaning of the rooms. They didn't clear the dishes and basically just made the bed.

The hotel is an old time charmer without being kitsch. The main reception area is welcoming and comfortable, and the staff are very efficient and helpful. The included breakfasts are well above the standards you would receive in many more expensive hotels. My single room was compact but had everything I needed and was good value. Highly recommended.

Perfect location in a fabulous city, friendly staff, comfortable rooms.

Avoid it if you have large luggage - a walk from the carpark and no stairs. But for us that wasn't a porblem.

    Location, in room facilities, breakfast.

Outside area just outside our door and bathroom was not private, I.e. Others using this as their patio oblivious to the fact that it was not public property.

Location was marvellous, and an easy address to find. Located in the 'Old Town', hotel was close to many of the local sights. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, always with a friendly greeting. Room was exceptionally lovely and excellent value for money. Nice to wake up on my three mornings to church bells just outside the window (the rest of the time the area was quiet and peaceful!). Ljublijana was a wonderful surprise with lots to do, the Tourist Office was nearby which provided many day and half-day trips and access to pick-up point was very easy. Would visit again any time and stay at the Allegro of course.

    Can't think of anything negative.

only the location of the hotel

The Hotel does not have a 4 star status, a minibar is in the room but empty, cleanliness in the bathroom is not perfect, no pads or tissues in the bathroom, no lift available and the stairs really old and broken .....

Very peaceful location near restaurants. Very "boutique" feeling, with lots of old and quirky charm.

WiFi was bad in our room, and best on the ground floor. At least you could drink there and play chess.
