Kobarid was great. A wonderful market with everything you could ever need and lots of lovely local specialities. A great place to do base yourself for hiking and also get to Bovec for white water rafting. Hisa Planica is in Dreznica above Kobarid. A lovely little village with great walks to beautiful waterfalls, wonderful views, the best hosts. The drive up to Dreznica is fairly winding, fine for my husband and sons, but at times I needed to close my eyes.

Naturally blessed area and a very clean town.
Naturally blessed area and a very clean town. There are a lot of water or mountain related activities that can be done around the town. There are places were food is more than great(Hisa Polonka or Kotlar) located in the center of the town.

Nice town, we liked especially cycling near Soca river.
Nice town, we liked especially cycling near Soca river. Beautiful views. We were eating in Soca Pizza Restaurant, really good pizzas, we also saw other restaurants, but Soca was always open so this was our place :).
We were on bikes, but we saw many people with hiking gear, and according to map there are a lot of hiking trails.

Loved everything about Kobarid.
Loved everything about Kobarid. It is quaint and while there are tourists coming and going, it doesn’t feel like a tourist town/trap (which is how Bovec seemed to me). The homes in town are lovely and well maintained. I got the sense that people took a lot of pride in living there. The town itself is beautiful. You can go out and see/do so many things if you use Kobarid as a “home base” and go out to nearby points of interest. I walked the Historic Trail, went kayaking, went rafting, and visited waterfalls. I only spent 2 nights in Kobarid and then 1 night in Bovec. I wish I had spent 3 in Kobarid and skipped Bovec the town altogether. I could not get dinner at any restaurant in Bovec- very few places serve food and the two places I went to said they were booked for the night, yet most tables were open. Meanwhile, in Kobarid, I walked into the loveliest restaurant at 8:30 pm and was treated to a table and exceptional service. The place was busy- always a good sign- and the person who served my partner and I treated us like we were regulars. He may have been the owner by how knowledgeable and attentive he was. Hisa Polonka is the restaurant and I highly recommend it. The following night I was tired and just got pizza from a local hostel. Different experience from Hisa Polonka, but the pizza was also good and for 8 euro it was a good deal. Kobarid also has beautiful views. You can’t go wrong staying in Kobarid for a few days.

Kubarid is a little village (or town?)
Kubarid is a little village (or town?) placed in the middle of the Suca valley, a perfect location to visit the highlights offered in the area. I recommend at least two days for hikes in the surroundings and enjoying the beautiful nature pearls there.
Breakfast was not included. However, the host left us with pastries by the window in the morning . The location was in a quite area with nice mountain view and a paved walking trail right next to the apartment which was nice for a evening or morning walk. The hosts were very friendly and sweet, welcoming us with beers and a dish of cherries. They also provided us with a lot of information of where are the attractions nearby. I will highly recommend this apartment to anyone.
EVERYTHING! To begin with the host were extremely nice to give us some food as by the time we started driving all super markets were closed (extremely sweet of them). Later we were greeted by Ines (the nicest Slovenian ever)… she was super kind to show us around and gave us really good tips about things to do in Slovenia. The apartment es super modern, impecable cleaned and super comfortable. If I had a chance to give it a rate I would say 20 out of 10…. its was PERFECT!
The apartman itself is very cozy and well equiped and the bathroom is beautiful. We had a really good time, went for swimming in the nearby river and which is just a dream (the water is cold, but the view is awesome). Ana was the perfect host during our stay. She sent us a list with all the concerts and activities in the neighboring villages, and some restaurant options as well (you must try Postaja Poljana). She even helped us when one of us had an accident.
Nice rooms, very clean and comfortable.
Absolutely adequate standards for this price bracket.
Location is quiet at night, though the building is situated at the main road.
Free parking and easy access through the rear.
Very friendly owner, family atmosphere.
Fine restaurant with good selection and very prompt service !
Easy and interesting walk into Kobarid from there (ca. 20 minutes), away from the main road through the countryside.
The little hut we stayed in is situated in the green mountains near Kobarid. It is suuuuuper calm, the nature is beautiful, there is a small waterfall nearby. We absolutely loved it! Lidija and Vinko are so friendly and kind, we got a fresh lemonade and drinks upon arrival and even some cake to enjoy. They are super friendly! I would always come back - everything was perfect!
Very comfortable and well equipped apartment in a rustic rural village setting a little out of Kobarid. You can hear the cows mooing! The location is excellent to access all the Soča Valley highlights. Super clean and comfortable inside plus a complimentary bottle of wine. There’s an outdoor seating area too and an excellent restaurant, Jazbec, a short walk away.
The apartment is spacious and everything is still quite new. it has everything you need including a Dolce Gusto machine for coffee lovers. It is close to shops, restaurants, companies that organize adventurous activities and a nice self-service fresh ice cream shop. It is just a few steps from the Kobarid Historical Trail, should you want to explore that.
Midway between Bovec and Kobarid in a tiny village, so quite well placed for exploring the area.
Lovely to sit outside for breakfast under the vines.
Vista the soca gorges, then swim in the Nadiza river because it's 10 Celsius warmer than the Soca!
We were presented with lovely local sweet dumplings .
Hostel Kobarid exceeded my expectations with cleanliness, amazing hosts, and comfortable beds. The property was beautiful with several terraces to enjoy the view. We loved the host Anna and her husband who also took us paragliding. I highly recommend going paragliding :). Thank you for everything!
We enjoyed staying there. The house is located in a calm place of Kobarid with own parking places. Kitchen was sufficiently equipped and maybe it sounds kinda funny, but we really appreciated enough of toilet paper 😀, it happens a lot, that we have to buy us some more, but not in here! 👍🏼😊
The friendliest owners you can wish for.
We were offered tips for restaurants and sites to visit, a homemade beer and even cakes and refreshments on our second morning there.
Great localization as well when wanting to be based near kobarid.
Highly recommend it !
The appartement is located in a little village close to Kobarid. It is so charming and you are surrounded by mountains, it is surreal. The appartement is simple but you have everything you need. The host is really friendly. I would recommend this place.
Quite comfortable appartment. Warrm welcome by owner. Friiendly atmosphere. Kobarid is an excellent place, less touristic than Bovec. Very close for the visit of Soča river and other natural monuments, like Mali and Velki Kozjak. and other places.
The apartment was modern and spotlessly clean. The check in was really smooth, the owners are very friendly and helpful. The scenery is hard to beat! It was the perfect place to stay for our dinner at Hisa Franko, a short 15 minutes walk away!
If I could give higher points than a 10, I would do-outstanding Hostel, truly, one of the best I have ever been to!! Amazing place, amazing stuff, amazing Kobarid-thank you very much, would return at any time again, while being there!
Spacious apartment in an excellent location in Kobarid and with a nice terrace from where you can see the church tower and surrounding mountains. The hosts were always quick to respond and helpful. Highly recommended!
Great location in the small town of Kobarid. Easy walking to restaurants and sites in town. Room was large with a lovely patio that looked over an orchard. Breakfast was delicious and the owner was very helpful.
The pension is in the very center of Kobarid, which is an excellent location for activities and for eating out, yet the room was quiet and comfortable. Also the staff are extremely helpful and kind.
