The apartment is quite large. It is towards one end of the main strip up a steep hill. Maybe a ten minute walk to the public beach and a forty min walk or short drive to Piran.
The beach isn't realy a beach. It isn't a typical sand entry. More like stairs into the sea. The public beaches charge for use of chairs and umbrellas and the water is murky and full of sea grass. The water in Piran looked better but you need water shoes tho deal with the stones. The town of Portoros is cute and has lots of restaurants and a nice walkway. We did day trips to the caves in Postonja and the horses at Lipica. These are about an hour drive from this apartment. Our hostess Ilonka didn't speak english but she was kind and helpful.
