Seaside Hotel Marko is located right in the center of Portoroz, only a few steps from the beach, and offers magnificent views of the sea. It also features free Wi-Fi.
Score from 866 reviews Excellent
Very clean, modern hotel. Room is freshly furnished and spacious. Hotel, restaurant and spa stuff was very nice and helpful! The young chef which makes eggs and pancakes at breakfast made us smile every morning, very very nice guy! Food is very tasty and healthy ( sometimes even too much, it is hard to find any baked goods which are not full grain). We loved the natural taste of beef and fish. At breakfast there's free freshly squeezed orange juice and some tasty smoothies.
Location of the hotel is on the hill. Very hard to climb up with baby stroller! There is an elevator trough the spa zone, but there is still few steps between the corridor connecting hotel and spa zone. Inaccessible by stroller! Wifi was not working all the time. Some of the people smoke in their bathrooms (?) and there is a strong cigarette smell from the bathroom ventilation. Very very hot the room, and no way to turn off the heating.
Renovated rooms, pool area (including 25m pool), massages (extra cost)
surcharge for bath robe
Good location, excellent spa and sauna facilities, nice and helpful staff, meal is diverse and healthy, the hotel was recently refurbished and the room is cosy, modern, neat, Portoroz and Piran are very pleasant places really
The only problem was that in October air-conditioning was not operational and thus heating was not available so it was a little bit cool in the room during the evening, specially with a little child
comfortable rooms, healthy breakfast options
opening times for fitness centre and spa are too limited
very good spa and breakfest
parcking problems. we park far from the hotel
Excellent rooms, spa facilities, absolutely loved the healthy food at the buffet, it is also very convenient that you can charge on the room any service in the Lifeclass hotels, even coffee on the Meduza beach!
Only one elevator! Its a big problem with a baby, when you have a stroller.. Had to wait for ages every single time! Also moody waiters and restaurant managers.
Nice staff. Renovated rooms. Food quality in restaurants improved. Pools with mineral water (although old design of pools and showers we liked much more).
A little activity in the pools won't harm anyone. If its so important for kids not to jump in the pools anywhere maybe it will be good idea to give some areas for them only (since you've renovated whole pool area anyway)?
uneducated staff unprofessional
Nice hotel, very healthy breakfast with a rich sortiment of meals. Clean rooms and very godd wellness possibility. Excellent yoga trainer!
We appreciated a healthy breakfast offering and overall a nice and clean hotel and a very good offering in the spa. We had a nice oceanview from 4.th floor and a short walk to the beach.
Not all the receptionists were very service minded nor friendly, but overall a good service level.
The food at the restaurant was very good. The decor was modern and the room was very clean.
The location wasn't as good as some of the other hotels because this hotel is not right on the main road and you have to walk up a hill.
- staff, new furnitired hotel, like more then 4 stars
- slow and bad WiFi, on site is not external sw. pool, have to pay full price for sunbed just for 30 minutes
Comfortable beds Breakfast
Unprofessional stuff at reception
Everything, especially room #403
Noisy Russians & other guests slamming room door late at night, loud talking.
Nice hotel with good location. Rooms a very nice and clean. View to the sea from sea view rooms is fairly limited, so probably not worth the extra. Breakfast very good, wifi nice and fast. I have not tried the wellness. Beach is what it is. Portoroz is not famous for its beaches. Standard sunbeds 12 EUR for 2, nice sunbeds 40 EUR for 2.
Coming back from the beach or town, you need to walk up on a fairly steep hill. Its a short walk (100 meters) but for those with walking difficulties its not suitable. Charges extra for bathropes. Come on...why screw up a nice experience, this is not a budget hotel at 170 EUR per night should cover bath ropes...
The fact that the hotel is nicely renovated although only one elevator is available.
The receptionists are not that pleasant and the night receptionist didn't speak almost any word of English. The food is very basic and the variety is very little and doesn't match with a 4 star hotel. In no other hotel we needed to pay 6€ to use a bathrobe and no slippers were provided. For those who forgot the slippers, they can be bought in the swimming pool. Internet in the device was constantly disconnecting. Housekeeping staff was using the elevator along with guests to bring big bags of garbage and linen to wash.
Healthy food and spa
- recently renovated hotel - close to the beach/city center, on the hill, but the best location compared to surrounding hotels (Mirna, Neptun) - recommend a visit out of season - food in restaurant
- paid drinks (water) during dinner
