Cukrarna Guest Accommodation

I like the location in the centre of the city of Kranj. All tasks you want to do could be done easy because all the facilities are located close to the hostel Cukrarna (bank, bars, restaurants, bakery, library...). I also like the great view on the Kokra canyon and hostel is a great starting point for some trips around Kranj.

For the moment there's not a thing that I could heavily criticise.

Everything was great, the location in the very center of the city, near to the bus station and all main atractions. The manager Peter is very friendy and helpful, he recomended us many places to visit. Breakfast included, city maps, rooms enough spacious etc.

The owner Peter was great, very friendly and helpful. He spent time with us showing good places to visit and restaurants to eat locally. Rooms very clean and we had nice home cooked breakfast in the morning.

Friendly atmosphere, best owner ever... I'll be back for sure!

As you might have heard before, owner of the Hostel, Peter, is a very friendly man who is willing to make your stay more enjoyable. If you don't have a plan or information about Slovenia, don't worry. He gives a quite nice briefing about what you might need to know during your stay. About the hostel: there is a bike ,free, for guest's use, a very nice kitchen where you will find everything you need to cook and a refrigirator. Finally if you have plans in Ljubljana, you can provide a full map.

The host was really friendly and helpful. The first night we arrived at Slovenia, he helped us to make clear of our travel plans and gave us some suggestion where we should go ( The Vintgar gorge is fantastic!!!). Moreover, the creamy vegetable crepe the host made for the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

Cukrarna felt more like a friendly B&B rather than a hostel. Peter the owner/operator was an exceptional host. The highlight was without doubt his gourmet breakfasts and coffee in the mornings. Peter went out of his way to provide helpful tips and useful information about things to see and do around Kranj and its surrounds and cheap local transport was available 3 mins walk from the hostel. I would definitely recommend Cukrarna to anyone travelling in or through Slovenia.

Peter who runs the hostel is super nice and very helpful. The location is great and he made some great recommendations for things to do and see and good restos and such...

Peter, the owner, went above and beyond: making creative breakfasts, providing excellent restaurant and tour recommendations. Our private room came with a jacuzzi bath, a luxury for a hostel/guest house. The view from our room and the lounge area was spectacular overlooking the river and chasm below. Located in the heart of Old Town.

Private bath was next door to the room, not in the room. Curtains rather than sheets over the windows would have been nice.

Peter the host served us freshly picked mushrooms from the local forest for breakfast! Totally different to your usual accommodation.I never ate mushrooms before this stay! Pity we hadn't got time to have the omelette he was about to prepare.

Staf and guests! I liked my room and morning view - Vannila sky!!!

Peter is such a wonderfull people, he's tryning the best for customers. I'd say 10/10, a really good place to stay ! (ps : peter, i've followed your advice, i went to Bovec and i did Zip Lane, it was handsome, thank you)

Great location. Very nice rooms and wonderful view on mountains and on the Kokra river. Super Manager and super energetic breakfasts. Excellent starting point to visit the area: Triglav, Lubiana, Bled.... Highly recommended!

This was my first visit to Slovenia and I wanted to stay quite close to the airport on my first night. I was quite worried about travelling alone and had heard that Kranj, as an ex-industrial town, might be a little dodgy with high unemployment. I need not have worried as Peter, the owner of Cukrarna Guest Accommodation was a congenial and helpful a host as you could possible have imagined welcoming me with a refreshing red wine and water drink out on the terrace. He sorted everything out, advising me on the best way to see Slovenia, where to eat, travelling on public transport. The facilities are excellent - hot showers, clean rooms, comfy beds and the view of the river gorge below is simply stunning and well worth a swim.

The taxi to the location was a little expensive and the driver, who told me he had been driving for 27 years, had never heard of this place. I hope that it becomes much more widely known as it really deserves to survive as a business. Peter is a super nice guy and a little gem in the heart of Slovenia.

Ok, it's the first time that I would give a 10 to a place so that says it all I think. Peter is a great guy, the place is perfectly located, is clean with a marvellous view, I even could park my motorbike inside the hallway, facilities are +++++++ well enough said, if you are looking between this place and another, choose this one, you won't regret it!

It was great to stay in here because thanks to Peter,he made me feel like I am in my home and he tried his best to give equal privacy for everybody.If I go to Slovenia again,i will stay in this place .And if you are looking for a great place for stay,this place is the best choice for you.

Peter is a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful and full of stories and tips for things to do in Slovenia. He cooks wonderful breakfast, too.

Peter the owner is kind enough to meet me with traditional cake which is made by his mom and take me to the top of the mountain without extra fee!

Gostoprimstvo,tačnost,ljubaznost,prijatna atmosvera koju domaćin pravi,uslužnost,požrtvovanost domaćina Petera Pancura da ugosti I uradi sve zarad prijatnog boravka svojih gostiju,kulinarski specijaliteti Pitera,toplim omehom domaćina koji vas dočeka čim kročite u CUKRARNU...i još puno toga ali to morate doživeti to se ne da napisati :) Već sam hvalila hostel svojim koleginicama I kolegama na Kongresu na Brdu pri Kranju koji se održavao odd 9 do 10.5.2013.god. Rado ću ga preporučiti prijateljima u Nišu...

Peter Pancura je previše predan poslu I ni malo ne misli na sebe I svoje zdravlje. Pije kafe,puši,malo jede,malo odmara...

Ottima posizione nel piccolo centro servizio veramente notevole nessun problema di confusione notturna darei al tutto un bel 10 !!!!!!!

Unica pecca il parcheggio a 100 metri perchè l'ostello è in zona blù ma risolvibile benissimo.

Хорошее расположение, всего 8 минут от автовокзала и практически в самом центре города, сам город расположен практически посередине между Любляной и озером Блед,примерно 40 минут на автобусе до каждого объекта. Номер достаточно большой, чистый, то, что ванная комната в коридоре, неудобств не доставляет.Ну и главное достоинство хостела - это его хозяин Петер : встретил, чаем напоил, картами снабдил, рекомендации , что посмотреть, и где поесть дал, сам же готовил завтрак и даже распечатал все необходимые мне расписания транспорта

Die Betreuung durch Peter sowohl in kulinarischer als auch informativer Hinsicht war herausragend. Ein gekochtes Frühstück ist das absolute Highlight.
