This Ljubljana hotel is extremely well located just steps away from the river, the charming pedestrian enclave and the historic district full of Slovenian Secession style buildings. This was critical for us; we had reserved another hotel on the periphery and are we glad we changed. The building's exterior gets justifiable praise for its Secession style, but inside you'd never know as the common areas and rooms are just like any other hotel. However, the rooms are quite workable and it had the best bathroom facilities of the seven hotels we stayed at in Italy, Croatia and Slovenia. Staff are very intelligent, pleasant and helpful. Free desktops for internet access in the business center was a big plus. The pillows. They were huge and lumpy. But they didn't keep us from sleeping well. |

Nice hotel in the city of Ljubljana, all locations at walking distance Our room was on the side where the aircondition of the hotel has its exhausts, thus it was very noise outside, reduced to a tolerable level while windows closed. |

I agree that their location is fantasitic. but most htoels are in the center of the city as it is a very small city. I had an ok expereince with this hotel. this hoel advertises as one of the oldest in town and I would expect so and love to experience such grandness or oldness in it. but it turned out that they put me in the new wing (a new building extension) next to the Union Business. So what is the point of paying more for? The room I had is ok and clean but it looks like a small business 3-stars hotel room! I am not satisfied and also will not ever recommend to anyone else. My advise is not to trust pictures of an ad! |

Great location and huge room Very poorly equipped gym without even a treadmill but i think they are renovating this so hopefully it will improve |

It was close to the station, for our late arrival and early departure. Because it was very central, we could go out for short walks and return to the room for regular breaks and refreshments, which made it very convenient. |

The hotel was very well centrally located, car hire was available on site, swimming pool and sauna facilities were good, breakfast was fantastic choice, staff very efficient and friendly especially Alexander ice machines not working, slow lifts, lack of wireless internet access, showe and patio doors falling off |

The location of this hotel is excellent, only a stone's throw away from the city's activities. All the staff members we met were extremely helpful in every way. And the buffet breakfast is probably the best I have ever encountered on my travels, it had everything one would want. |

it was not just to the city center, it was part of city's history. elegant decoration, comfrotable rooms. No wireless internet in the room, breakfeast was not great, coffee was bad. |

Great building with lots of character. Good size room. Free internet Being charged €7.50 for a bottle of water. Coffee at breakfast totally undrinkable. |

Breakfast is brilliant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Ambience grand. Room clean and comfortable. I would have liked to know the room had only a shower at the time I booked. |

clean, comfortable, extremly central, very nice it was not very personable or that friendly to be honest. there wasnt anything particularly wrong with the hotel just not a great atmosphere from reception staff. they werent very natural comparing to reception people at other less star hotels for example |

zero , would have preferred to stay on a camp site bad beds! beautiful exterior and a horrible interior. really much too expensive for what the hotel offers. dirty dishes in the room. really awful breakfast room.... |

Friendly staff, spacious room. Excellent breakfast buffet. The pool and sauna are located in the neighboring 'Grand Union Business' hotel which needs to be accessed through the basement parking. Next to that the sauna was out of order and the water in the pool freezing cold. Business hotel is also currently under renovation, so perhaps better after october '09? |

the location was very convenient for access to the city, staff were friendly and helpful, internet was free which was a bonus, breakfast was varied and well prepared. wifi would have been good, parking had to be paid for and was a little expensive. |

Excellent location, right in the heart of Ljubljana and just one minute from the river, cafes, restaurants etc. Very large and luxurious hotel, with previous guests including Bill and Hillary Clinton! Staff were very helpful, great breakfast catering for every taste and in-door swimming pool on top floor with great views over the city. Bike rental available at connected Grand Hotel Union Business hotel at just €5 per day. Underground parking facility was very expensive at €17 per day. |
