Marina Portorož - Residence  

Location was lovely. Room was ok

Bed was very uncomfortable.

Excellent swimmin pool and comfortable garden. Very silent apartments.

Not enough hot water for 5 people at the same time - for example before morning checkout.

Very confortable for families, you've your own indipendent apartment to use as being at home. The flat and the kitchen are fully equiped, quite modern and clean, parking underground or around the residence

Sofa beds not really confortable for adults...

It seems they do not put a lot attention on maintenance. Once is built it up, nobody takes care to be on the same level as new one - unfortunately this is tipical for Slovenia and I am really dissapointed.

The residence is situated in the port of Portoroz, easy to find, quiet place, very modern, very clean, spacious.

The apartment we rented was supposed to host up to 5 persons. Hot water was finished after 5 minutes, not even enough for one to have a shower. At the reception they told us to wait 10 minutes, bit not even after 20 minutes we had hot water again. The second phone call they told us to resolve it, but nothing. It was on the 31 st of December and we were supposed to go out at 19.00, but we were still in the apartment at 20.00 waiting for hot water. After 2 hours nothing changed and we had to have shower with cold water. The holiday was spoiled.

Marina Portorož – Residence has luxury apartments equipped with anything you need for a long stay with highly standard and comfort. For this kind of facilities you definitely get a good value for your money. Located at a quiet corner in the marina, with the nice marina view and 10 minutes drive to Piran, this seems to be a perfect location for Slovenian sea side vacation.

Like meny marinas, whatch out for the mosquitos...

The check-in was difficult to find as it was through a gate actually in the boat marina.

Very secure. Nice large apartment. Air conditioning in the apartment and bedrooms. Underground parking.

A long way to walk for breakfast if you took the "breakfast option".

Excellent apartments: large rooms, two baths, new furniture, kitchen with all what is needed and more. Free parking. Walking distance from beach and city center.

We weren't so happy that our freezer was iced up & therefore out of use.

The location is close to Piran for an easy visit to the city. The Marina is beautiful even though we do not have a boat, we enjoyed looking at it from our balcony. There is a saltwater pool on site that was good. There are several restaurants on site but we only had coffee, they looked great though and of course within walking distance if you don't want to go back out into town, which isn't far. The kitchen was small but had most things you need to cook a meal. The master bedroom and two bathrooms were wonderful for our family.

The second bedroom had only 1 single bed, which we found odd. Plenty of room for another single. My other two children had to sleep on the pull out sofa in the living room which was poorly constructed and not comfortable. The Panini maker in the kitchen did not work and I was dissappointed because I had gone out shopping and bought a whole meal around making these once I saw it. Otherwise it would have not been a big deal. I informed the front desk upon check-out and they were surprised by this. No salt and pepper or coffee filters. I didn't think to bring these things. Just outside the gated marina is camping and they stayed up till all hours of the night and were quite loud, especially since we were the last row of buildings next to it. Thankfully the air- conditioner inside and the thick walls kept the noise from coming into the building so we were able to sleep. We just had to listen to all of the noise when we were on the balcony which was frustrating since we were trying to relax after our long drive.

The apartment had a very modern style. Clean, well equipped, spacious rooms, nice terrace. Stylish location in marina. Free and clean pool, friendly environment.

Unfortunately the second bed was terrible. We could not sleep on it, had to put the matress on the floor - though the appartment was advertised up to 5 person.

The apartment was modern, well-equipped, a very good size with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large lounge with two pull-out beds and a balcony. Satellite TV in the lounge and digital elsewhere was fine and olympic coverage was great. Having air conditioning was great this summer. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the two restaurants (4 and 5 star) were good quality and very reasonable. There is a saltwater swimming pool, by the restaurant, very well looked after, with loungers available at a reasonable daily cost. Nowhere was too crowded, and the marina is within easy walking distance to the beach and shops. All together, all 5 of us were very pleased indeed with the whole deal and would certainly go again. Well done!

We stayed at Marina Portoroz-Residence because during a busy summer weekend it was the only available and reasonably priced accomodation at Portoroz, which could meet our specific accomodation requirements - we travelled as a group of one couple and two singles. The Marina Rezidence had an apartment, which could offer us two single and one double beds. Eventually, they turned out to be two couches and a double bed, but the couches were comfortable. The location and the distance from the Portoroz main areas get critisized by most of the other reviewers, but to be frank it wasn't that bad. If you have a car, you can easily drive from the Marina Rezidence buildings to the marina main gate (and still keep the car in the marina parking lot), and then it wouldn't take you more than 5 min walking to the closest beach or 10 min to the main area of Portoroz, where most of the bars and restaurants were. The closest bus station (taking you to Piran for example) was also not more than 5-6 min walk from the marina gate. If you want to walk from the hotel itself, then add 5-10 min more. The appartment was clean, nice modern furniture, the kitchen we didn't use but it seemed to have all you may need. The terrace was reasonably large with a big table even suitable for dining. There were good blinds on all windows/glass doors. An advantage was also that we had two bathrooms/toiletes, however, the hot water was finishing rather quickly, so the last of the four guests to take a shower, usually was getting a cold one. A big advantage was that we were allowed to use the marina shower/toilette facilities after we checked out (had to take a chip from the reception for accessing them) - it was pretty handy after the beach and before driving back home. In a nutshell - nice and cozy appartments, not in the town center, but definitely not too far; nothing spectacular - simply an average clean and quiet accomodation if you're happy with the fares.

The personnel at the reception were unnecesserily impolite. It is not that they would insult you or anything, but they made you feel guilty for asking them for help or stealing from their precious time to check you in and out!?!? No smile, no welcome, no offer to help with anything, unhappy attitude altogether. They force you to leave your passport at the reception until you pay. Of course, you can pay in advance the full amount and take your passport, as we did, but I am opposing this on principle: 1. In most of the countries in the World, and definitely in all EU countries, it is illegal to leave you passport as a guarantee anywhere and to anyone. 2. They had my credit card data (from booking.com) including the security code, so it was definitely weird not to trust me to such an extent that they would require me to leave my personal documents as a guarantee for payment.

Beautiful apartment, great for 5 people. Very luxurious, fully equipped. Inside the marina, very nice swimming pool, 10 minutes away from the beach. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a beautiful two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms. Very spacious with plenty of room for our family. The furnishings were lovely, the beds comfortable and the apartment was very clean. We even had a small patio and yard where the kids could run around and play with their ball. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Although it was not an issue for us, the location is not on the main strip in Portoroz. However, it is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the main part of town.

Our apartment was really nice, spacious and modern and spotless clean. The underground garage was handy for parking.A Trip to neighbouring Piran was interesting but over-rated after visiting the historical old towns in Croatia.

I would not recommend either Portoroz or the Marina accommodation for a holiday stay. The staff were abrupt and unpleasant. You had to hire sunbeds if you wanted to stay near the pool which is a total rip off. The bar was extremely overpriced so we didn't use it much. We didn't have a sea view as requested. There were children playing loudly at 8 o clock each morning. The area of Portoroz is similar to Blackpool! It is full of casinos and junk shops and bumper cars etc. The sea water was filthy and even tho' this didn't seem to bother other people, we couldn't bring ourselves to go into it. There was slime and green matter floating in it and a disgusting pungent sulphor smell in many parts of the prom. The surrounding areas to lie on were also filthy. There was graffiti everywhere and lots of buildings including part of the complex we stayed in were derelict and dirty. Parts of the marina boat moorings were full of stinking, stagnant water The local staff in pubs and shops were curt and unfriendly and after experiencing the exact opposite in our previous weeks holiday in Croatia, we decided to return there each day and spent 3 lovely days in Novigrad, Rosenge and Porec respectively .It was no bother to cross the border in the mornings and return in the evenings and was only a short drive. Here the water was crystal clear, the resorts were magnificent and the people were welcoming and appreciative of business. Portoroz, clean up your act please!

The Residence was spacious, well equiped and clean. We very much liked having 2 bathrooms.

The Residence is a long way (about 500m) from the Reception and the resort's hotels.
