Vila Triglav on Pokljuka  

When we booked Vila Triglav we were expecting a nice place in the mountains where we could be active but also relax. From the day we arrived to the day we left our expectations were exceeded in every way by Tadej (owner). Vila Triglav offers a great experience in a great location. The rooms are a good size, they are clean, and even have a laundry shoot to put your dirty clothes. Every morning breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, fresh meat, eggs, and yogurt from local farmers. Tadej provided enough stuff to make lunch for our bike rides or hikes. Before leaving each day we set up a time for dinner and he provided us with maps for hiking or biking. When we returned from our adventures, the wellness center (sauna, hot tub) was ready to go. He provided us with fresh tea and dried fruit while we were relaxing in the hot tub. Dinner every night was made by Tadej (He did a great job accommodating our dairy free requests). We got to try a lot of different Slovenian dishes and wine. Every meal tasted great. When we were there, it was mushroom season and Tadej and his family picked mushrooms and made a great soup for dinner. Our original plan was to stay for two nights but we extended for two more. All of the amenities mentioned above made for a great experience, but there is more. Tadej is a professional cyclist. He has raced the tour de france and finished in the top ten. The mountain bikes are full suspension top of the line bikes. He offers a variety of biking adventures. Where else could one stay in the mountains and be able to ride with a professional. If you are into biking this is the place for you. It was nice to sit down after dinner and talk to Tadej about his experiences in professional cycling. Overall, Vila Triglav is a base camp for hiking and biking but also offers a place to relax and get away from the city. Tadej offers a great experience that you cannot get at other hotels and for a good cost. We will be going back. Sean and Amy

It was realy great : very comfortable and clean rooms, very relaxing and private wellness, delicious meat served in a very friendly and housemade fasion, nature and possibility to take bikes. Thank you very much to Tadej Valvajec and his team. Good luck for restarting your carreer. Now, we have reason to watch Tour next year.

We stayed here for 3 days in late July and had a wonderful time. Staying at Vila Triglav on Pokljuka felt like staying with family in a comfortable mountain cottage. It was an extremely cozy villa set in the middle of beautiful pine trees and mountains. It was just renovated about 3 years ago, so everything still seemed new and fresh but in the classic wooden style of the original villa. Our room was the largest in the 4 room villa and had way more space than we were expecting or needed, but it was great to be able to spread out across the separate living room and bedroom. We had gorgeous mountain views from the windows in both the living and bed rooms. In addition to our room, we took full advantage of the jacuzzi and shared balcony with views of Mt Triglav through the overgrown pine trees. The classic wood-burning jacuzzi out on the deck was perfect after a long day of hiking to Mt Triglav. The balcony was a great place to relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea after a meal. Since the villa only has 4 rooms we had both of these facilities completely to ourselves every time we wanted to use them, which was amazing. Most of all, it was the incredible service by the villa's owner, Tadej, that made our stay so great. He was so accommodating and helpful in making every aspect of our stay fun and easy. He gave us rides to and from the surrounding towns for a small fee whenever we needed them. The villa is way up in the mountains not close to any public transportation or taxis and so this was definitely key and provided a huge savings over renting a car which would have been the only other way to stay in such a quiet and beautiful place in the mountains. He set us up with top-of-the-line mountain bikes (free/included in the price of the room) and sent us on a beautiful trail around the Pokljuka plateau. He gave us advice on hiking Mt.

The only thing about the room that took some getting used to was the shower. It was not tall enough to stand up, so you had to sit down and shower or take a bath. As New Yorkers, this was not something my boyfriend and I had seen before and we were a little taken aback at first, but ultimately we enjoyed it. We took advantage of the opportunity to take baths, which we never do, and embraced it as part of the experience of traveling in Europe.

The week we were there we had the place virtually to ourselves and we received the 5 star treatment. Great value for money when compared with prices that you would need to pay for equivalent in other alpine countries. After a day in the mountains returning to a wholesome 3 course meal was a real treat. Not a single plate was left with any food on for the whole week!

vse nam je bilo všeč in se bomo sigurno še velikokrat vrnili.

site idéal, très calme pour se ressourcer dans la montagne slovène au son des clarines. point de départ pour très belles excursions pédestres ou en vélo. plusieurs lacs (baignade) à proximité. Très beau chalet entièrement rénové,avec gout,très calme."chambre suite" spacieuse bien décorée très confortable. Excellente cuisine copieuse et typiquement slovène. Accueil très chaleureux et attentionné, en français et en anglais. Magnifique sauna et jacuzzi extérieur chauffé à 38 degré, appréciés après les ballades sportives..

Tadej, owner of the villa, could not have been more accommodating. He prepared hearty breakfasts each morning, and after relaxing in the hot tub and sauna he prepared a three course gourmet dinner for us. He saw to our every need; fitted us with snow shoes, drove us to where we could rent cross country skis and because we're without a car he e en drove us to Bled so that we could see the famous castle. I highly recommend Vila Triglav for anyone who is looking for a special get away in a spectacular location.

It is a very cosy mountain chalet with big, comfortable & beautiful rooms. The location is good if you want to stay in the mountains. It's very peaceful & quiet there. There is a very nice wellness (hot tub & sauna), great after a day of walking in hte mountains. Although a bit out of the way, it's a convenient base to visit both lakes (Bohinj & Bled). The friendly owner is a good help for walks & biketours in the mountains.

We found it a bit overpriced for a mountain location in Slovenia.
