눉I guess the village of Ždiar is not frequented by non-Slovak tourists so much, hence speaking English is limited. There was an elder woman who gave us keys to the apartment, but we paid to some man in the evening. Due to language barrier, we couldn't communicate much and nobody answered the phone - for example we couldn't figure out who's the owner - but I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing - it just adds to the experience of traveling in a foreign country without the "safety" of brilliant English knowledge.
눇It was basically a room (and private toilet) in a big house, surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. There were a lot of decorations, everything was clean and beds were comfortable to sleep in. There's a kitchen next to the room, you can make your own food there - although we just preferred a nearby restaurant and pizza place. WiFi worked alright. The location, well, it's not in a city, but for traveling by a car it's excellent place to rest. People around the house, perhaps the owner and his friends, seemed to be very friendly - despite of us having a big language barrier. There was also a friendly Dachshund in the yard who liked petting :)
