Sheraton Bratislava Hotel    

The location of the hotel was right near a new development in Bratislava, on the Danube, with lots of cafes/bars etc. Hotel was very new.

The price for internet and breakfast was excessive.

Facilities and location, utterly superb hotel.

It was a bit quiet, which is not down to either the hotel or staff.

Breakfast is well over priced at 25 Euro, recommendation is to eat at one of the nice cages in the mall

The Sheraton Bratislava is modern, beautiful, and located very nicely at the banks of the Danube.

Make sure you get a room facing the river! Otherwise you will face a huge shopping mall. Some of the staff is borderline arrogant. When I didn´t manage to connect to the internet in the lobby, the gentleman at the reception reluctantly took care of the problem with a why-do-you-bother- me kind of attitude. When I politely asked for a late check-out because of an evening flight out of Vienna, I was told that the hotel was fully booked, which was either a misunderstanding based on a software problem or an outright lie. Every booking website I checked offered available rooms in the Sheraton for that same night. For a taxi service to Vienna airport btw the Sheraton charges more than double the amount an independent and reliable Bratislava taxi service with very comfortable Mercedes taxis charges. To avoid their hideously expensive breakfast buffet I ordered a Bircher Musli (a Swiss oatmeal breakfast with raisins, nuts, and fruits) through room servive... Only to receive some milk and three cardboard packages of cheap Kellogs cornflakes and chocolate cereal for €8. There was no waiter at the coffeehouse next to the lobby and I had to call him through the receptionist. I could go on and on. All in all, an annoying experience in a beautiful hotel that could do much better!

Pricey breakfast!

They asked me if I wanted to donate €100 to UNICEF on checkout. Why should be embarresed like that. It is nobody's business if I donate to charity or not. Totally wrong and unexcepable for a hotel to do this. Ruined the entire experience and I was furious after this. Would put me off Sheraton.

new hotel / Comfortable & good location

Beds, room size, setting, location, staff all very good.

Bit noisy outside the building, but not exactly their fault.

I loved the interiors of the room. It was very spacous as well! The location was very nice and convenient. Loved that the mall was close to the hotel with plenty of cafes surrounding it and the danube is just behind all that. You can take a romantic walk by the river just behind the mall. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Convenient SPA and swimming pool. Spacious room.

Poor movie on demand selection and extremely expensive. Also Internet charge is too expensive. Nowadays most of the business hotels provide free Wi-Fi Internet from the rooms. The valet parking is also not convenient. I prefer to park the car myself.

The guest helping staff (guy who took care of our car and helped us moving to another room) was really marvelous, eager to help and always in good mood, giving a kind smile. The receptionist was kind and helpful too.

Hotel like Sheraton should keep the same level everywhere. However, in our case it was not so. When we wanted to have a drink at the hotel bar we were unpleasantly surprised. First, as the only guests there at the time, we ordered two coctails and the bar tender disappeared somewhere. He was absent for about 20 minutes, and then came back carrying nothing, but saying that there is no Calvados (one of the coctails needed it). We changed one of the ordered coctails, waited for another 15 minutes, when he arrived with one of the drinks, announcing that the other drink (actually, plain Margarita) will be finished very soon, only after he trouves the recipe. That is something that should never happen in that kind of hotel.
