No breakfast provided but there is a kitchen so you can make your own food.
The hostel is in a quiet area. The owner of the hostel is very nice. I had to wait 15 min. for her arrival to check me in but then I got a free lift to the city center of the town (2 km). The mountain scenery is beautiful (if there are no cloudes).
The hostel was locked up when I arrived and looked shut down, after calling the manager she turned up half hour later to let me in. Nothing major to complain about, friendly enough, very basic hostel but for the price it should be expected.
It was very cheap and free wifi
Weird hostel. No staff. Call to check in. Didn't lock the main during check out as I was the only guest. Kitchen and utensils needed cleaning.
Pretty ok for a few nights of sleeps
I did not mind, as it was only to sleep for 1 night, but do not expect some staff to be present. You have to call them so that they check you in. I waited like 15 min, which was ok, but some guy told me he just slept in a room, and "checked in" the next day :-)
Mattress, shower, price, cleanliness.
Since it was raining I had to take a taxi to the location. However, the good news is that the rate for the taxi is only 1.5 to 3 euros no matter how many people ride in the car, so in the end it was a treat to travel by taxi on a budget.
Meeting fellow travelers who share similar visions of being in this lovely location of nature.
I booked one night stay in the hostel and came there after 10pm but noone knew about my reservation and noone answered the phone. In the morning the door was closed and I couldn't get out. Then I came to the restaurant where the owner was supposed to be to say hello and goodbye. She wasn't sorry or interested in my story but she told me to explain how come I slept there and without any word she run to her hostel. I felt stupid, guilty and strange.
I was lucky that in hostel there were some guys (workers? porters?) who let me stay for night. My room was clean, nice and I had comfortable bed. I could use maps and guides about Slovkia
NO STAFF AT ALL! you have to pay at the restaurant next door, the waitress hardly speak English. so you can not get any help or information. Some people arrived when the restaurant was closed and we had to show them around. that's crazy. then if, as the restaurant was closed you did not have the opportunity to pay yet, they will come to you at 8am being rude and yelling for the money. then there were some long term street workers there, who were in the small kitchen all the time or playing loud music. they were trying to be friendly but it still did not feel very comfortable
The appartment is nice. i call that an appartment as it is not a hostel
Booking.com should do something more to alert hostel owner that someone had already booked to stay. I was at the hostel without nobody being inside because they did not know that I would stay there.
Nothing:) ( too short stay is our fault:()
Everything was just great! Special thanks to Jana Hrebikova! Tatran Sky in Poprad is really wonderful!
Please think twice, no thrice, before you stay here. Better go down to the Tatras and you will find nicer hostels, penzions than this. I had to stay here because it was getting late and I thought I would better get some shelter. Turns out, I didn't know what i was getting into. * The location is 15-20 minutes walking from the bus/train station, not exactly near in a place like Poprad. * The owner/manager is fully unaccessible! Check-in is handled by a restaurant next door who don't speak English! The restaurant closes at 8pm so if u have any problems/ questions after that, god help you. I had to call the manager twice to ask about something but there was no answer. Imagine a traveller calling a hostel's manager to get info and call not being answered! * There was no heat in the middle of winter & on a rainy night. It was unbearably cold and curling up with the blanket even while I was up and about was the only option. * The facilities were patchy - no toilet paper, no hot water.
The wi-fi was perhaps one of the only things good around the hostel.
