“ The island is really beautiful and the location is excellent with lovely sand. There are lovely "cottages" directly overlooking the beach and we upgraded to one of those. Fabulous. Lovely pool and comfortable deck chairs. ”

The island is really beautiful and the location is excellent with lovely sand. There are lovely "cottages" directly overlooking the beach and we upgraded to one of those. Fabulous. Lovely pool and comfortable deck chairs. The locals outside the hotel are fun and taking a boat out with the locals was better value. The 3 course half board dinner offered 2 choices at each course and we enjoyed our meals very much. Some of the staff are almost surly which is uncharacteristic of the Senegalese. They failed to create an enjoyable atmosphere except in the restaurant in the evenings. When we arrived we were given a drink but no information whatsoever about the hotel or meals. The hotel provides a free launch to collect you and return you to their landing stage across the river. But if you leave on the launch for a trip neither the hotel nor captain will commit to time for collecting you. Result you wait a long time. French guests commented they felt like prisoners.

Great ambience and location - away from ordinary. A truly African experience. Not much activities offered in the hotel except for a few that required extra payment - but even then there weren't much choice.
