The bed was a little stiff and the pillows were so lumpy that I bought one from the store for my stay. The parking was frustrating as the staff was constantly worried about who parked where due to the setup causing cars to block each other.
The value can't be beat. The cleaning staff is excellent. Location was great and felt safe.
Only two towels ( a small and a medium large) but due to humidity, the towels do not dry enough for a second shower - had to ask for an extra one- was told that i could only get one more - I had to choose between a small and the medium) 2) The worst was the fact that there was only one sheet - no coverlet- got cold in the night - the temperature couldn't be raised - looked for a blanket in the closet - there was none - as it was 1 in the morning - I had to stay like that until I left in the morning for my flight to Mexico. Arrived with a very bad cold - had to stay sick in bed for two days
A very good location Has a beauty salon on site (didn't use) the proximity of the Art Museum and its cafe ( excellent) the proximity of the Restaurant Pomedoro - a real find Clean, very good wi-fi,
Downside is the hotel is not located near any food shops or cafes.
They offered us coffee on our arrival, which was exactly what we needed. Excellent location for a visit to the Art Museum.
The cleaners were usually chatting loudly early in the morning while we still at bed. This hotel is not isolated from the external noise as we were getting sleep after midnight every single day. Noisy music coming out from 'Presidente' hotel a hundred meters down from Villa Serena hotel, concerts taking place from Friday to Sunday at the 'art gallery' -in between both hotels, as well as an strident working engine type noise every night at the one of the buildings beside the hotel made for a disturbing cocktail to stop you having a nice sleeping as planned. After complaining to the hotel staff they show themselves unable to do something to mitigate the uncomfortable effects product of the poor insulation of the hotel building. Also, we were asked to pay for all the time of our staying there since the first day. In many places you pay for your staying the day of your check out. At the time of arriving in the hotel the price of every room, it seems, was different from the one I had booked weeks before. Based on all this we think the price rate we have paid for to stay in this so called hotel is higher comparing book.com publicity with real environment/condition of this hotel -apart of its rooms cleanness. I think we must be refunded as we have not get that kind of comfort a peaceful place is expected to provide you.
rooms are fairly clean
Nice location, residential area close to restaurants, bars and shopping. Attentive staff in reception and breakfast room. Good options for tours and shuttle through the excelent services of Mr. Balmora and Sr. Ricardo Torres.
