The bar by the pool could have stayed open later into the evening - it would have been nice to come back and enjoy a drink after dinner. Breakfast is really very basic, with a limited selection, so not to be relied on to see you through, though you could supplement what's on offer by buying groceries and having a cooked breakfast on the terrace of your villa.
Given that the Turks and Caicos islands are never going to be a bargain break, Villa del Mar is amazing value for money. Our suite was perfect: spacious, quiet, nicely appointed. It was kept beautifully clean and having a full size kitchen did mean that self-catering was an option.
The best thing, though, was the fantastic location, less than a stone's throw from Grace Bay: walk across the street and through the gates of the exclusive Grace Bay club and there was Villa de Mar's own little bit of gorgeous beach, complete with beach attendant to help with lounge chairs and anything else that was needed. Just perfect for a quiet, low key holiday.
