Akwa Guesthouse  

Worst nights sleep ever! Throughout the night we heard the loudest banging on an outside door to the block of rooms we were in as no one had a key! It doesn't feel like a safe area. And when we spoke to someone in the morning she just laughed and said our room!?

The owner seemed friendly and helpful however, we only saw him twice throughout our 4 day stay! Perhaps he is only there for check ins. Location is adequate, about 10 minute walk from centre of Chaweng with lots of restaurants/shops along the way and is across the road and through another hotel to the beach. It was unclear if we could use the hotels pool across the road but the beach is very clean so you don't really need a pool.

We booked the standard room for 4 nights. It didn't look anything like the pictures on the website! Our room wasn't in the guesthouse, it was down the street about 2 minute walk and then down a very dark alley. The only security was our actual bedroom door. There was an outside door but it wouldn't close! The room itself was very old and grubby. The toilet was awful, it leaked at the base and constantly smelled of sewage. The shower was in between the toilet and the sink which made it flood the place! The television had many thai channels but only a couple of English ones however, every channel was fuzzy and the DVDs outside the room were all very very old. The bed was completely broken with two of the legs barely attached. Every time I moved during the night I thought the whole thing was going to collapse!! The room also seemed to be situated across from the maids laundry room, where they arrive at about 7am and make an enormous amount of noise until about 11am when they then proceed to sleep for the afternoon in the laundry room! It was impossible to sleep in past 7 am! Also, the room was on the ground floor looking out at the alley way so the curtains had to be kept closed at all times for security and privacy as the maids and their entire families hang around in that alley as well as the laundry room! This made the room feel dark and small and just even more horrible to spend time in! I cannot say what the more expensive rooms are like, the reviews seem to say they are ok but the standard rooms definitely are not! I would not recommend staying there. Pay the extra couple of pounds to stay somewhere decent!

Each rooms had interesting decor. Books and DVDs were available. Decent room for the price.

Lots of Mosquitos in our room but we couldn't figure out how they kept coming in. Internet wasn't working.

Close enough to the Main Street but quiet at night. 5 minute walk to the beach. Good value. Ideal for travellers/budget.

Staff not overly friendly. Hole in the ceiling to which you could see outside. Cigarette burns on furniture. Loose fixtures and fittings.

very comfortable accomodation at a very good place close to the ocean and I would really like to say a thank you ro a very kind staff that works there

Location was Ok

This is a guest house and the rooms are small and the stairs are steep, very steep.

Bed was very comfortable. Guesthouse was well situated close to the beach and restaurants.

Breakfast was not included. For the first 2 days of our stay we had no hot water and water pressure non existent. Fortunately for Martin who works at Akwa he came to the rescue and problem was sorted out for our last days stay.

The staff were beyond helpful and friendly in a genuine manner rarely seen

some staff not helpful with luggage but waited long time to be tipped.

A beautiful place to stay. Excellent value for money.

The staff were all so lovely. Location was great for bar, pubs, and beach life, and there wasn't much noise pollution. If i ever return to Samui i would stay again. Thank you for a lovely couple of days.

The Penthouse is spacy and clean. But it is direct above the walking street of Chaweng Beach and it can get quite loud. But the place is quite cool. Good value for money.

The room had its best time a few years ago, but thats no biggy.

Big spacious room, with lots of added extra to give it abit of character. I liked how it made you feel at home with the DVD player and selection of DVDs. The staff were very friendly and would go out there way to help you. Even when we were checking out at 10:30 the owner let us leave our luggage even though it's a very small bar and doesnt have a lot of space. This place has a nice atmosphere and homely feel and I'd defenatly recomend it to anyone.

Location for us was abit far from the main clubbing street (30mins walk), Appart from that everything else was spot on.

rooms cool, staff great, owner was very helpful and polite, great faciliites (pool/beachetc) location was good, food agood and cheap beer!

Pool staff were rude and would not provide umbrellas for akwa guesthouse customers. No luggage storage. Rooms are small.

Very like The design of the room space is very good Feel like in their own homes Really want to have been alone do not want to go home haha :) p.s Boss is very kind

Wonderfull guesthouse, great staff. Clean and very comfortable rooms. Absolute great value for money. Free internet in room. Beach and pool 2 steps from reception. I recommend and will be back for sure.

freundliches personal, mehr pluspunkte kann man diesem hotel nicht anrechnen.

3 zimmer in 2 tagen und 2 nächte früher als geplant abgereist - spricht eigentlich für sich selbst. die klimaanlagen funktionieren nur sporadisch, es stinkt in den zimmern nach schimmel, oft wirken sie heruntergekommen und schäbig. ekelfaktor inbegriffen! der istzustand ist mit den fotos keinesfalls zu vergleichen - ich würde dieses hotel definitiv nicht weiterempfehlen!

убирали каждый день, хотя и полотенца иногда были в сомнительных пятнах и с дырами.

расположение на центральную очень шумную улицу, круглосуточный шум, нереально громадные дискомфортные ступеньки, чтобы подняться в комнату, в комнате воняет , даже благовония круглосуточно зажигали- не спасало! персонал отмороженный и не участливый, дифиниция этого места- это ужасный хостел, за эти деньги можно найти в лучшем месте и дешевле

La qualité de l accueil tout d abord puis la qualité de confort et d originalité de la chambre !! À ne manquer sous aucun prétexte la terrasse !!!!

Pour tout dire pas grand chose ...

Akwa的套房真的物超所值，房间很大，而且环境舒适，所处的地理位置交通方便，也仍然处于苏梅查旺海滩比- 较热闹的小街之上，离海边距离很近。

Rmb80多一天，屋子的风格很时尚，很温馨，员工都很可爱

我们住的1楼，房间特别潮，衣服放着感觉潮乎乎的，湿衣服（只是有点湿而已）开着空调一晚上也干不了。。刚- 入住那天门口哈趴着一只青蛙。。。囧
