The Empress Hotel enjoys a quiet location in Chiang Mai, yet is a convenient 10-minute walk from the Night Bazaar. It features an outdoor pool, massage parlor, and 2 restaurants.

It's a quiet place, very clean, comfortable and convenient location if you want to avoid the city centre.
We really enjoyed the friendly staff and the full breakfast, the setting and the view were relaxing; And the local laundry was right across a street and the local seamstress was next door; and there were three coffee shops just up the street.
There was a problem with no hot water in the morning for several mornings.
Room is spacious and well decorated. Compact hotel, but nice landscape and setting.
Breakfast by the river, free shuttle to night market, super friendly staff
Hard bed, though they did add a pillow top cover after we inquired. It remained a bit too firm for our taste though. WiFi is slow.
Poor ABF, Twin Beds pushed together to make a king uncomfortable, reception staff lack knowledge of area and ability to advise guests, lighting in bathroom poor
Staff were excellent. Not a bad location.beds very hard but they can soften.Wouldn't book the elephant suite again there's no windows,we upgraded to the white elephant suite which was fantastic.Breakfast was fantastic at the waters edge.bar and restaurant I never saw anybody in ever. But chiang Mai has lots of beautiful places.
Pool was too sheltered. Beds too hard. Would prefer rooms with opening out windows or baloncys
River view, clear colours and wood interiors
Location poor breakfast choice
The room is confortable
Bad connection to wi-fi, the housekeeping is weak, after they're done the room was still messy. Poor breakfast, not compatible with the standard of the hotel
Excellent view of the river, which is wooded rather than fully urban at the farther bank at this point, from the breakfast terrace, pleasant rooms.
The scent of the soap.
The staff is very helpful.
Breakfast need to improve.
The hotel is at a good location...We rented the motorcycle for our whole trip during stay at Chiang Mai.So it only takes us average 10 to 20 minutes to each designation (like night bazaar, old city, central festival shopping mall)...We even ride the motorcycle to doi setup..It's very cool! The staff are very helpful and passionate.
Having breakfast each morning next to the river is priceless. Grounds are well maintained given the size of the hotel. Location is good - all tour companies will pick you up from the hotel. You are approx 80-100 bhat from the old city. Excellent Spa (at very good prices). Wish I had used it more.
Restaurant needs new CDs!
We had a great few days here, in a nice location on the riverbank. A short tuktuk ride to the centre and always easy to get back with local red taxi or tuktuk. Thai food at the hotel was excellent. Staff very helpful when I had a fall and needed to visit the hospital. A grat hotel to stay in.
Our stay at this boutique hotel was far beyond our expectations. First of all, the room was very clean and cozy. The staff there was excellent and friendly. Breakfast had a large selection and which was located near the Ping River.
The room was large and spacious with large windows, the hotel has beautiful decoration and is very comfortable.
A bit far from the city center. But the river running behind the hotel is really nice.
Breakfast on the river without crowds or ugly hotels to look at
Swimming pool not long enough to swim laps
Staff and room are impeccable. Nice decoration. Riverside and river view restaurant for a great breakfast.
i like to stay there because was near to the river and also not far away from chiang may night market and i was really happy because other wise we go bussiness i have nice travel and stay with my fiance i will stay in this hotel again next time i visit chiang may
i would like request this hotel for have papaya salad because the waitress was not understand what is reall papaya salad i order and give me an other food .
the pool was too cold, as in shade. Shame, as the garden and rest were great
The hotel is nicely located facing the river and a little bit Knute side fo the city centre. Quiet location with beautiful garden, nice staff and comfy atmosphere. Good place if you want to be quiet and close to the city. You also can borrow bike, good way to visit around Chiangmai.
The view of the river
Poor breakfast, very noisy, small and cold water pool
Lovely spacious room. Good shower. Friendly staff
