Staff were nice and friendly. Hotel was relatively clean. Not far to walk down town. Free tea and coffee for your duration of your stay.

One night there was a cockroach in our bathroom. I spoke to the guy on the reception and he came and killed/removed it. So sorted it out.

Staff was great organized pickup from the airport for us, emailed me after my booking to make sure they will have everything setted up for us before we come according to our needs, they were extremely helpfull and organized quite cheap tours for us as well including transfer etc. great value for the money

No hair dryer to be borrowed, no elevator but gets you a nice warm up before you jump into your bed with your girlfried when you get to the top floor so maybe this is positive

The Ascot hotel was fantastic. My boyfriend and I have been living in Thailand for the pat two years and go on a lot of trips round the country when we have holidays from work. I can honestly say that this hotel has been he best we have stayed at throughout our time here. We always look for budget places and what you get here for your money is excellent. We stayed here for 6 nights and thought the staff were fantastic, really friendly and very helpful. The room was very large and clean, with a maid service everyday (this was something we've never experienced at any other hotel in Thailand!) The location of the hotel is an easy five minute walk to Ao Nang beach and very close to many shops and restaurants. We stayed on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel. After reading another review on here about the view from the top floor eing amazing, I'd requested a room on this floor via email. The balcony was very large and the view of the Ao Nang cliffs was just beautiful! Overall, I cannot fault this hotel. It was lovely to stay somewhere with such genuinely friendly staff! Thank you!

Little further away frrom the sea. It is OK to walk from the beach back after sunset, but the way to the beach on the sunlight is hard. No shade on the way.

Very friendly and helpful staff. In general a very relaxed place to stay. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but a lot of restaurants, bars, shops, dive and climbing centers are close by. So it's a perfect place to start for many activities and offers great value for money.

There's no elevator. The hotel is right at the main street. So if you mind the steps or traffic noise, ask for lower level / rear side rooms.

Firstly the staff are amazing, unbelievably friendly and helpful. The room was huge, perfect walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. I'd go back again.

The hotel was good location and very quiet at night,many cheap places to eat and good food near hotel. I found that the place place to eat was to the left of the hotel ,you can not miss it,just about 30 feet from hotel,nice thai food and fish food

Nothing wrong with the hotel but there is building work going on next door but it did not spoil our time there

Very friendly and helpful staff, spacious and very clean room, with an amazing view to the mountain. If we ever back to Ao Nang, we will definitely come back to this hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel has very good service and the receptionist is very nice. If the hotel provides breakfast, I think it is perfect.

Loved their services. Their staffs are very friendly and willing to help us to get back our potrait drawing that was left in the van. Love the location as it is away from the noisy crowd. 7-11 store just a few steps away. It's a relaxing place to stay.

Everything - it was the best hotel in Thailand I stayed in (I stayed in rather cheap hotels, not the luxurious ones). The staff was excellent, extremely nice and helpful. The location was also very convinient - within 10min walking distance there is a beach from where you can take a longtail boat that takes you to the Railey Beach or various islands (I really recommend Chicken Island!), The hotel is close to all restaurants, shops etc but it is far enough to be quiet at the same time. When booking, ask the staff to give you the room with mountain view - it's magnificent. The rooms are spacious and very clean.

Very good choice. The staffs are very nice, and they helped us to take care of my mother in law when we went to pp island. They also helped to book some trips in Arabi on reasonable prices. After backing from pp, they upgraded our house into deluxe rooms only in the same price with normal rooms. In summary, very good choice and very nice place.

Hotel needs some improvements and renovation. There was always humidity smell in the room.

Not having any lift

Very friendly and helpful staff! We booked few trips from the hotel, and the prices are reasonable. Rooms were very clean and air-con worked well. The view from the window was amazing! The coffee was also great, and free (also tea). If you don't mind walking a while to the beach, then the location is good. It's not too near all the hassle and salesmen. We even booked one night more for our way back to Bangkok!

Shower was quite miserable, but it's the same in every cheap hotel in Thailand.
