Avista Phuket Resort and Spa, Kata Beach  

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and stayed there for 2 weeks. Everything was very nice. We took the Deluxe Double room which was beyond our imagination in design and comfort.It was fully equiped.We even had couple of choices for pillows. Greeting was very sweet.Check in took 5 minutes only.The room was ready before check in time.We were even asked to pick a time for room cleaning and house keeping. Breakfast was awesome, foods and drinks were great. The swimming pool was wonderful ,clean and had a cozy pool bar. Games room and fitness center were good enough for rainy days. Location was on a hill and very quiet but still 15 minutes from Patong beach,20 mintues from Phuket town. Free shuffle is available for Patong and Kata beach twice a day. We also rented a motorbike which made our stay even more comfortable.

1)Although you will be given discount coupon,spa is overpriced. 2) There might be small insects in rooms but its nothing since you can ask room service to take care of it but still you have to pay the price.

It's new. Room is spaceful and all equipments are pretty comfortable and good. Also the staffs are very helpful and friendly. Kata peach is not very far from the hotel and I think Kata beach is more wonderful than Patong. Plus it is very great idea that Avista has shuttle buses both to Patong beach and Kata beach. Will definitely choose Avista if I go travel to Phuket again.

I really liked the hotel, especially my spacious room with a sea-view.:)) The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good. I even liked that the hotel is situated on a steep hill, so you can exercise walking up and down. :)) The beach is just 5 minute's walk! It is quite clean and calm, no big waves, perfect for families with small children. Nearby there are a lot of restaurants, small travel agencies, supermarkets. I would recommend this hotel.

It is a nice hotel and nice location to stay with excellent breakfast. Kata beach is cleaner and nicer than Patong beach.

The hill to walk up to the hotel is tiring.

Really an excellent hotel with very nice location and perfect staff and services ,recommended for families .

Since I'm from west Asia ,didn't find good restaurant (Iranian ,Arabic ....) near the hotel ,

Avista is a very modern hotel. Room was excellent. Great pool and loved the pool bar. 5-10 minute walk to Kata beach ( nicest) 15-20 minute walk to Karon beach. Would stay here again.

The Buffet Breakfast Spread and the standard of cleanliness at the restaurant - surprisingly, no flies! Plus the Games Room (all games complimentary) and since it was low season, we had the Games Room to ourselves most of the time. Service was also excellent - very prompt (even for room service).

For a hotel to profess to be in the top league, it has to make sure that stained or old & frayed towels should not be used for guests (which appeared somewhat unbecoming of Avista standard). Some details could also be given more attention such as replacing the soap bar when it was obviously well-used and shrunken in size rather than wait for guest to throw it away before getting a new bar and also, checking whether the shower gel etc. in the shower area require replenishment as a matter of housekeeping routine. One more thing - it should be made clear on the hotel website that connecting rooms are only available for the Grand Deluxe Rooms.

The best room I have ever stayed. Very nice staff and very nice restaurant. Very close to the beach as well to the Kata Beach centre. The hotel is up in a very small hill, the way up is steep but does not take more than 2 minutes or 150m. Great hotel. Nothing to say against.

We were travelling with our 3 children. We chose the Grand Delux rooms for the kids and other than one room being quite dark the rooms were huge and the kids all loved them. I would say these have been by far the nicest rooms they've stayed in and we have stayed at some expensive resorts over the years. We chose the Executive Club room for ourselves which was nice but not as big as the kids rooms and not as brighly decorated. The early closure of the pool bar was disappointing as after coming back from a sunset at the beach it would have been nice to have a drink at the swim up bar before preparing to go out for dinner. The kids enjoyed the games room too. Free internet, what a bonus. Even a library where the kids could grab a movie to watch before crashing after a busy day. All in all a great Hotel for us and we would definitely recommend the Hotel to friends and hopefully come back again.

The only downside was the hill, I'm sure I read that there was a regular shuttle to and from the beach. There is but only twice a day and you have to book 24 hours in advance! Local tuk tuk's took advantage too and charged THB200 eachy way for a 3 minute ride. It really would make sence for the Hotel to run their own shuttle service for their guests. Adjoining hotels offer this service. Forget the high heels too, you'll never make it up or down the hill. Swim up bar closed at 6.30 even though the pool stayed open and guests were still wanting to order drinks.

The hotel is pretty new with comfortable rooms. The room classification is a little bad as the Avista Club Room is smaller in size in than the Deluxe Double Room. The Breakfast was of good quality like in any international hotel, especially the bakery. The pool was of fair size and well maintained. We had a good time at the Games Room of the hotel as well which had Table Tennis (Ping Pong), Table Soccer and a Pool table. The tv in the room was a huge lcd (42") which was Big for the standard and rates of the Hotel. It is good for a short break in a budget but not the best.

There were several things which resulted in a bad experience for us. Firstly, we had requested for a pick-up from the hotel, which was not arranged. When we reached the room, the safe was not working and it was not repaired even after repeated reminders. Also, the sheets and pillow covers were dirty upon our arrival and since it was 2 am, we decided to sleep in them only. The reception team themselves were not very friendly and even though they have a separate travel desk, they insisted that we book all the tours through the reception only. I dont know if it had anything to do with the fact that the lady at the travel desk was not a local. All the tours offered by the reception team were exorbitantly priced.

Location, Friendliness, Comfortable bed and spacious rooms-great breakfast selection.

The slipper is not for one time use.
